Gills name isn’t something edible. The only tank gang member with an edible name is Peach (well, and Gurgle in the German version). Also she is the only member there with black dots as eyes.

Bad timing with posting there- I think I posted before I saw your original answer, Witch_of_Night. But you’ve got it! I’ll explain the clues. :smiley:

  1. There is a goof involving me and other characters being able to hear me when they shouldn’t.

I really thought this would give it away- it refers to when Peach lifts up half of her body from the side of the tank in order to speak to the others, when they complain that they can’t hear what she’s saying. But then afterwards, we see her speaking to the others fully attached to the tank, and yet the others manage to hear her.

  1. I have had an argument about the equipment being used.

Peach had an argument with another member of the Tank Gang about the equipment that the dentist had been using.

  1. I always have to be in constant contact with something, otherwise I can’t stay upright.

Peach is a starfish, so she can’t really stand up by herself.

  1. My name is something edible.

You can eat a peach.

  1. My eyes are simply two black, shiny dots.

Peach’s eyes aren’t humanlike; they’re just like two dots.

  1. I am from a movie where none of the main characters have hands or feet.

All of the main characters are aquatic animals, mainly fish- no hands or feet.

Well the only recurring characters, unless you consider an easter egg appearance or something, are those in toy story. If toys can be considered men I can think of both Buzz and Woody. Andy is not a man, and he’s the only recurring male human character I can think of.
