I’m speechless…
Once again, Pixar seems to have done no wrong as far as film-making is concerned. The ball has been hit out of the park and it has kept on sailing over the twenty-year mark. If that day should ever come when the studio fails to tenderly decant something into a bowl of roseation and delectation it will be a sad one indeed.
The trailer itself was, to me, definitely out of the ordinary and not at all what I expected it to be. For some reason, I always imagined the production of WALL-E to be composed on a slightly darker note; and perhaps the reason behind this resulted from an envisioned fantasy of mine… which was, in turn, combined with the original teaser trailer to formulate something quite dramatic, if not Shakespearian.
Setting this aside, the official trailer for WALL-E is, in my childish eyes, more than reminiscent of past events that took place in my childhood – pleasurable instances, although long forgotten. Simply put, I feel that when I finally view this film in its entirety I will recall one thing or another from my earlier life that I had ceased to remember until that time. Henceforth, I wait on tenterhooks to see this production.
As for the overall content, direction, and numerous other aspects of the trailer – including insight into its many characters, stunning visual effects, and magnificent score – it looks bloody brilliant in my opinion, as I’m sure it does to the rest of you guys. From what we (and I) have witnessed, the film seems to be almost a cross between a child’s theater play and a scientific exhibition (of course). And, as is the norm, the amount of information given is overwhelming, yet it lingers on the mysterious side of the island at the same time. Naturally, Pixar Animation Studios tends to keep everything on a covert level, preferring to seclude their innumerable secrets until the very last second. WALL-E seems to be no exception. I have an idea of what the whole plot will amount to be, but, then again, I have absolutely no clue…
What will these secrets spell? I simply must unveil them, as will we all on June 27th. Pixar, you’ve done it again…
[spoil]By the way, you know that moment where WALL-E is ejected in the escape pod and crashes against the window of the little vessel? Look at that background. That’s beyond “Star Wars-ian” if you ask me…
