I hear ya. I’ve got TSC Woody and Potato Head, Slink (and Mini), DS Buzz and Hamm, and a Target Exclusive Alien and I’m in the same boat. I can still get Jessie at TRU, but Bullseye is gone and I’m definently going to have to track one down for my “TS3 Gang” set i’m aiming for.
I still need Jessie, Bullseye, Rex, and Buzz TSC’s and the other 2 aliens so I’m hoping to get a couple for Christmas. I’m in Florida too, so i’m noticing the same thing. What parts are you in?
I live in kissimmee florida but when i go shopping for my TSC toys i usually go to orlando cause when i try to shop in my parts all i find is an overstock of belted buzz and bucket o soldiers so yeah so far i got 6 toys woody, jessie.lotso, buzz, soldiers and the alien 3 pack which i found for 22 bucks which was a steel also saw rc for 30 bucks in a target but couldnt afford him =(
Gotcha. I’m about 20 mins outside Orlando. Someone mentioned a “Spanish” version of Buzz, and I could see them doing that… Maybe. Less likely than Mrs. P. But if Hasbro was involved, we would have had 4-5 Buzz’s, and 3 different Sheriffs, and at least 2 Jessie’s. They LOVE repaints/re-issues. They’d never pass up the chance to sell the same thing with slightly different head sculpt, different phrases, and the same box.
But they did say RELEASED in late 2011, so they will probably show off, or at least announce about future inclusions at Toy Fair in Feb. That’s where they’ve done the promotionals for the first two sets, so my bet is that’s when we’ll know for sure.
I’d like a streatch too, as long as it was made of stretchable rubber. I don’t care if it can’t stick to walls. In fact it would be better if it couldn’t. But it needs to stretch. I know the technology is there… we had it in the '70’s.
The one thing I find hard about these toys, is that they are being marketed as toys, but sold as collectables. I wish they would make up their mind on what they want them to be.
If it’s a toy, there’s no need for an $30 price tag on an action figure, Twitch, Rex, non-squeaking aliens for example. If they are movie replica, adult collection items, then I can see the prices being what they are. I almost cringe when I watch my kids play with these toys.
I know were your coming from im scared to play with my toys yes first time in my life that i am scared to play with a toy i myself cringe when i play so yeah other my little cousin came over and he saw buzz and was like gimme gimme gimme and i had to put buzz on a shelf and watch him feel sad i felt bad about it but after spending so much money on a toy i wouldnt want it damaged am i a bad person for that i dont know but i know these toy/collectibles are very pricey.
Toys need to be loved and to love a toy it needs playtime. My vintage stuff, well they typically don’t get to play with them. But the new toys, especially if I didn’t buy them for the kids, then they get to play with them.
Even still seeing them playing as Andy did (remember buzz jumping on Woody in the 1st TS?) makes me twitch.
Bo Peep- to have a decent figure of every main one of andy’s toys
Slinky- I know their already is a TS3 Slinky but it could be so much better better articulation and much better material also get rid of the stupid strings on his face and in his spring
Alternatives-
Trixie- because they could make her just like they did the TSC Rex
Hamm- but their already is a satisfying enough DS one which I just ordered of EBay
I know one we are not getting for sure is slink and another we wont be getting will most likely be bo ones i have a strong gut feeling we are getting is zurg, mrs.p,trixie, and possibly prospector mayb even hamm
My ideal wave would be:
1: Mrs. Potato Head. Can you imagine her screeching ‘DON’T TALK TO ANY TOY YOU DON’T KNOW!’ at you?
2. Zurg. Like everyone’s said before me, he’s a massive favourite and would be a nice companion to Utility Belt Buzz.
3. Stinky Pete. Like Tyler said, double-box him or have removable stickers so you can keep him in his box. Also have it open at the side instead of the top. And don’t forget hit pitchfork and goldpan.
4. Trixie. Similar to Rex (they are, after all from the same toy line), you could twist her tail and have her yammer on about the internet or how she loves to do improv. Her head could rotate a little when she talks, and she needs an articulated jaw.
5. Bo Peep. With or without her lamp, but she would have to come with the sheep. Instead of porcelain, she could be made out of a shiny plastic similar to the DS Hamm’s.
As well as some long-shots that could be separate from the TSC line (Similar to that of Twitch, Chunk and Sparks)
Stretch. Glittery, rubbery, stretchy. No need for electronics. Not sticky though, she’d get covered in dust and hair and all sorts of stuff.
Bonny’s Plush Toys - Dolly, Pricklepants, Buttercup, Peas. The DS ones are nice but they’re a little too small and they’re missing the non-plush parts (eg. Dolly’s buttons, Pricklepants’ buckles and all of their eyes). Also, they have to be made out of similar materials to the movie toys. Buttercup needs “outside of sleeping bag” (Not too sure what it’s called, but it’s that plastic-y waterproof material) for his horn and inside of ears as well as a satin-y material for his body, Dolly needs felty-looking hair, etc.
They could be sold separately as non-TSC toys, or bundled up together and sold under the TSC label.
(Maybe) Bookworm. Cheap to make, and I’d finally have a use for all the TSC manuals I have sitting in my bookcase.
(Maybe) Chuckles. Not sure if he’d have a grin or a grimace on his face, but there’s a severe lack of Chuckles toys out there and he seems to be a fan favourite.
(Maybe) Wheezy. As long as he has a squeaker he’s fine. Very easy to make and would sell like crazy.
I really don’t see the need to have any more than that, as long as there’s a suitable version of the toy out there somewhere, I’m happy. Hamm doesn’t need to be branded TSC, the DS one, from what I’ve heard (I’ve got my very own somewhere between Texas and Australia at the moment) is fine as a replica, and the Poof-Slinky Slink looks alright after a few modifications (the removal of a LOT of string, and tape or something over his wheels so you can actually stretch him out without him rolling back together)
Big Baby looks easy enough to ‘Siddify’ yourself, you just need to break his left eyelid and draw some crayon markings on him.
There’s an awesome looking Totoro on the Otaku website that’s in-scale with Bonny’s one, and you can always buy the original Great Shape Barbie and Animal Lovin’ Ken online if the TS3-branded ones make you cringe.
hamm is not a shiny plastic i think he is a type of resin if thats how you spell it and they wouldnt make bo peep the same material as ds hamm because then they couldnt market her for children and these toys may be for collectors but they are also aimed at children.
The DS Hamm is Resin, and it’s mentioned on the tag that he’s a collectors display piece, because of it. He is pretty durable, but not enough to pass kid’s toys regulations. If anyone were to make Bo Peep, it would be Disney Store and it would be a full lamp. But I doubt they would do it this late in the game. If Bo were to be made out of the same material as the Hamm, she would not be posable at all. More of a statue.
i hope we find out soon i would like Mrs. P in it lol
my picks
Mrs.P “so i have a more accurate one and to go with my mr. potato head”
trixie " so i have a movie scale one"
rocky “so i have a bigger sized one”
robot & snake " one of my all time favorite’s as minor characters"
and finally
zurg “movie sized goes with buzz and his box”
"Wave 3 has been confirmed to be in production for an approximate 2011
release, but it is unknown which characters will be included. Thinkway has
announced that there are no plans for Slinky, and that they’re not
manufacturing their Toy Story Collection Hamm for Wave 3."
but you never know if this true or not because it’s a “wikipedia site”. It would be nice for a Wave 3 to come out to finish the toy collection, but for me I have a few potential toy collection ideas aswell to add to this forum:
-Stinky Pete the Prospector
-Evil Emperor Zurg
-Mrs. Potato Head
-Trixie
-Strech
-Big Baby
-Hamm
-Slinky Dog
Then I have a few ideas that I am not so sure about, but they could make it on to the collection:
So those are my ideas! Does anyone agree with my first list of toys (i.e. Stinky Pete, Emperor Zurg) and pick 1-3 characters from the second list of toys that you would like to see in the collection, please!
LotsoHuggingBear, I agree with your first list, except Hamm and Slinky probably will not be in the next wave. And for the second list, I choose just Sparks, as the other ones in this list already have very accurate versions of them made. Sparks has a lot of features that could be added to him, though, that are shown in the movies: Actual sparks, longer extendible arms, an extentible waist, led lights in his head, chrome painting, ect.
