Yeah, he bothered me at the beginning, before he changed. But I think that was partly the point of the story.
I think her writing was okay, and I don’t blame the director. A lot of girls I know act just like her. But it really bothered me that no matter what happened to the family, it was always her problems that needed everyone’s attention. You know what I mean? She always whines, like you said, and brings attention to her problems. And I absolutely despise how she talks to her mother. I mean, she does everything for Violet!!! I really think Violet needs one of those smacks Mirage got. Okay, maybe not. But she should be less selfish and nicer to her mom.
Yeah…at the begining,but I liked him after he changed…
I actually really disliked Jessie in Toy Story 2. I thought she was really annoying through the first half of the film and I could never get behind her charecter. Once they showed us her backstory , she was better, bet then she was trapped and not shown prominently. I also dislike Emile, Remy’s brother. I just never found him all that funny or interesting.
I don’t dislike any of their characters they all add to the richness and over all greatness to each one of there movies.
I think with Violet it really was a think of believability, since a lot of average teenagers do act that way. I don’t take it as Pixar’s way of saying EVERY 14-year old girl has to be like that, it was just Violet.
You’re right, Leirin!! And personally, I know a lot of girls who do act like her. It wasn’t an inaccurate portrayal, I just don’t like her because she’s so self-centered. And she just gets on my nerves period. Especially when she freaks out or gets upset.
