These collections are really cool. Now I don’t feel so immature collecting Ratatouille stuff… Maybe next year when I have finished with my Ratatouille collection, I will post pictures of it, as well as all my other Pixar stuff.
I might actually have a few rare Incredibles items that I’d be willing to send to any collectors here.
And because I’m bored, here are a few questions that any collector of Pixar merch can answer:
1. What do you specialise in? (The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, general Pixar films…)
2. How often do you add to your collection?
3. Where do you find the merchandise?
4. What’s the most you’ve spent on one item?
5. What’s your most treasured item/s?
6. How much do you think you have spent on your collection?
7. What’s one thing you would really, really want to have in your collection?
8. Where do you find room to keep it all?
9. Do you open your merch or keep it mint in box?
10. What are you planning on doing with all of your stuff?
11. Do you want to buy everything of the Pixar film you specialise in, or just some?
12. What’s next on your list?
13. Why do you collect?
14. Pics???
1. What do you specialise in? (I.E. The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, general Pixar films)
Ratatouille. Hopefully next year it will be Wall.E and then Toy Story before all of the new Toy Story 3 merch comes out. Then Up and so on…
2. How often do you add to your collection?
It used to be once every few days, but now it’s about once a week.
3. Where do you find the merchandise?
Department stores, supermarkets, toy stores, eBay. Thank God for eBay!
4. What’s the most you’ve spent on one item?
I usually haven’t spent over $20 for one item. Yet…
5. What’s your most treasured item/s?
My Ratatouille Disney Store plushes, Remy, Emile, Git, and Django action figures, cup and toque promotional thing from the cinema, and my 3-pin set FONY got for me.
6. How much do you think you have spent on your collection?
I don’t even want to think about it. Probably about AU$250 but I really don’t want to add it up.
7. What’s one thing you would really, really want to have in your collection?
An original piece of Ratatouille developmental work.
8. Where do you find room to keep it all?
I have a shelf in my wardrobe, on top of my tv, on top of my blinds, a tray thing at the foot of my bed.
9. Do you open your merch or keep it mint in box?
Most of it is mint, if it comes in a box.
10. What are you planning on doing with all of your stuff?
Keeping it, and showing it all to my grandkids. Eventually I might buy some doubles of a few toys just so I can give them to my kids or grandkids.
11. Do you want to buy everything of the Pixar film you specialise in, or just some?
As much as I would love to have everything Ratatouille, it just wouldn’t be possible because I live in Australia, and there isn’t even half as much merch available here, and I don’t know any one from Pixar, so there goes all of that exclusive merch… I’m happy with what I’ve got, though.
I’m pretty sure that I have all of the merch ever sold in Australia, but it’s a bit hard to find sometimes, because not much of the merch was ordered in…
12. What’s next on your list?
What isn’t? Ratatouille towel, rat plushies, poster, recipe book for kids, the art of ratatouille (on order), game for wii, piano song book, keyring, kids’ phone, kids’ apron set, remote control remy, 2008 calendar, lunchbox, cooking set, lithos, remy sniff ‘n’ speak… But that’s just a wishlist.
Pixar Monopoly, best of Pixar calendar, Pixar characters poster, Wall.E poster, Toy Story remote control car, toy story 2 pin.
13. Why do you collect?
Uh, because I love Ratatouille, and I think the merchandise is really neat, and want to express my love for the film by collecting merchandise. I haven’t ever collected anything this seriously before, and I thought now would be a good time to start. I don’t think you have to collect merchandise to love a film, nor do I think that your amount of merchandise is relative to your love of the film, though.
14. Pics???
Later. I haven’t finished the collection yet.
