^ I also second that.
I third. It’s like anything really, things change, and we get used to it. Sure, we’ll resist it at first, but you get used to it faster than you think.

Well, it’s very nice to know that you guys agree with me! Hehee

Haters gonna hate…
The new forum looks awesome. Also the autosign function works great. If it doesn’t work for you, it’s a browser/cookie related issue, or a security issue.
I believe it’s spelled with a “z”, but I agree that the new forum is a huge improvement over the last one.
I agree too! There’s so much helpful stuff, and I love being able to see who’s online on their avatar. I’m already used to them on the left too!
Great, now I feel like a Cranky, complaining about the old times. Jeez. Thanks for nothing, all of you.
In all honesty, I tend to overreact. I will try to visit this forum regularly. Can’t leave my friends, now can I?
That’s the spirit, Badger! I don’t think anyone would want you (or any other member) to leave…
I fourth EJE and little_chef’s remarks. It’s quite easy to throw up your hands up in defeat and act dismissive when we encounter changes we don’t like. But a better (and kinder) approach is to give constructive feedback and be patient for the implementer to hear and enact any improvements.
We should cut Phileas some slack, he worked his tail off on the revamp, and if I’m not mistaken, this is only the first stage. Hopefully when he reads this, he can take some of our suggestions aboard and include it in the future stages.
If I have a complaint (other than the absence of a clock) is that the post notifications come late at my inbox ever since the new layout was implemented. That bothers me a little.
The rest is great so far.
I like it.
That looks great!
Thanks for all the feedback with the first stage of the forums. We are working hard to transform the forums as best and as fast as we possibly can.
TDIT is right - we are only in the first stage of the relaunch, and we haven’t even finished this stage yet. There was a substantial security and efficiency necessity to do push out the first stage now, hence the new forums. By the way, Stage 1 is coming along very well.
As I have said before, the themes for the rest of the Pixar films are currently being developed and each will be out as soon as possible. Again, thank you for your understanding, patience, and co-operation. I apologise for any inconvenience, but I am trying to work as hard as I can to iron out all issues.
In response to Spirit’s request seeing the time, I have put the time in the sub-footer:
Spirit, with your other issue, that seems to be a user-isolated case. Would you please try clearing your cache & cookies? Thanks
As for the avatars being on the right, I’ve said this in a previous post:
As for the image resizing issues, again, stated in a previous post:
Progress is currently happening - as this has become a major concern I’m hiring a forum developer expert to fix this. Again, I please ask for your patience.
For problems with the automagically logging in feature, this is kind of a mixed bag. A straw poll I took said that it automagically logging in works for them, so it seems to be a user-to-user incident. I, myself, haven’t had any problems with automagically logging in.
I have identified a major cause (if not, the only cause) of why you may not be kept logged in: the new forums, as part of the upgraded security, requires you by default to log in if it detects that you are logging in from another IP address. This is fine for most users, but I do understand a) those who log in at several places, and/or b) those whose ISPs provide a dynamic IP internet service, are kept logging off every time their IP is changed/renewed.
Although it would have been preferred to keep this rule on, this rule has now been disabled and you should no longer have automagically log in problems. If you still do have problems, logout and login again making sure Automagically Log In is selected and that you have cleared your cookies if you are still having problems before logging in. If you still have problems, report back.
The new Pixar Planet Chatroom is now online! You can access this via Menu > Chatroom. It will pop up as a separate window. The chatroom software is completely new, and is full of new features - and it should be stable now and keep you logged in!
Kyle: It is clear that you are very apprehensive of the changes here at Pixar Planet, but this site refresh has been a collaboration and a running project with the Pixar Planet staff for more than a year. We are trying to iron out all issues and we are working with our users - and we are in no way trying to undermine our members, as it is seems to be implied. While I respect your opinions about the site, most users have adopted and embraced the change, and the site refresh is for the benefit of the community. We are simply asking for patience and understanding while this stage is being completed. If you wish to speak more about this - please send me a private message, not through a reply here. Thank you.
As for our Veteran Planeteers making a return on Pixar Planet during this relaunch, welcome back! It’s great to see you on the forums again! Please enjoy the new forums.
Hey, you’re great Phileas! I would have never noticed the clock down there. Thanks!
I really like the new chatroom! Great job!
Thank you Phileas for all of your hard work and time you put into the forums, I love it!
I am not sure if I ever got the chance to thank you for all of your hard work dude. So I wanna say thanks for being so awesome. I love the new forums. It will take a while to get used to, but it looks great.
I’d like to thank you guys too. It’s really great to come here everyday (as often as I can, anyways ) Thanks so much for all your hard work! This place wouldn’t be so awesome with you guys
And now, to check out the new chatroom!
Thanks Pixar crew! The new additions to the forum have been great, and my auto-login problems have disappeared.
Just a question. In the old forum, there were links to the Pixar Planet Deviantart, facebook, etc. Will there be such links in the relaunched forums?
Phileas, I love the new design!! It’s a lot more self-explanatory than the old layout. But, is there any chance we’ll ever have the usergroup icons under our avatars again? That’s the only thing I miss.
^ Oh, yes. That was a nice touch.
