I’ve kind of felt that it’s because the writers are secretly Pixar fans who recognize and respect the quality of their films (especially by now) and like making playful references to them. Maybe it doesn’t always look that way from some of the jokes, but that’s what it seems like to me.
I’ve never felt like their spoofs were disrespecting Pixar in anyway. Especially after the words the writers wrote for Lisa to say when she saw the Pixar guys on the red carpet of the Oscars. But your probably right. After having so much success critically and financially (although I think their appreciation has more to do with making good movies, not the financial part), their just showing their love for Pixar, in their own way. But I was just wondering. I’ve watched The Simpsons since they were a part of the Tracy Ullman Show back in the 80’s, and with Pixar having released their first movie in 95, why so long to spoof, and now so frequently. But like I said, what you said makes a lot of sense.
Well I do know that some of the people that have been at Pixar have also been on The Simpsons. Brad Bird worked on the show himself before he directed The Incredibles and Ratatouille (he did the episode in the first season where Krusty the Clown was framed by Sideshow Bob). And David Silverman was a co-director on Monsters, Inc. who directed a lot of episodes, including The Simpsons Movie.
Sounds interesting. If I get the chance, I’ll give that episode a chance.
I’ve just noticed, that the Oscars episode will air this Friday on SkyOne (UK)

Be sure to watch it all you Brits out there.
I laughed like a hyena at that Pixar spoof. Especially with them all riding scooters and having WALL-E make an appearance. And the episode itself was pretty good too
What do scooters have to do with Pixar?
After watching this parody of Up, I am about to hyperventilate:
Pixarians used to transport in scooters in the early days.
I take you hated the Up parody, but I think it was great. Why? Because you can see they’re not mocking the film, they’re just homaging it.

That’s not the problem…the problem is HOW they dealt with it…it is really disturbing…this is as bad as something South Park or Family Guy would have done. I thought The Simpsons was milder than this…
The Simpsons are very mild. Itchy & Scratchy, which has always existed within the show, is a parody on the very violent cartoons the children now watch.
And being honest, that wasn’t gory. It’s presented in an humorous way. You’re probably not used to Itchy & Scratchy.
I wonder what’s with all of the Pixar spoofs over the past couple of seasons on The Simpsons. I loved the spoof they did on Ratatouille during season 20.
It’s in spanish.
that’s a clever one, and absolutely one of my all time favorites
I liked it. The writers are fans and weren’t trying to offend us. Were did Fox get the rights to the music?
The Simpsons have got the rights to countless things over the years. It’s like a talent they have.
My sister is watching them right now, by the way.
From the same uploader, here’s one of Finding Nemo:

If anyone understands Spanish, I’d love a translation.
I didn’t watch the videos for the quality, but I love The Simpsons, so I’ve seen those episodes before.
In the first one, Marge asks why Homer hired that pest killer. He says he only did so cause the logo was funny, and he point to the truck, that says “A Bug’s Death”
In the second one, Fat Tony (who’s a mobster) say to the kids they’re going to “Sleep with the fish” He quickly clarifies that he’s talking about a Finding Nemo blanket.
Notice how Marlin and Dory’s coloring is completely off on that blanket.
^ That’s something usual with parodies. Don’t know why. Maybe it has something to do with copyrights?
