I’ll have to keep an ear for the trumpets next time… but retro is a very suitable way to describe “POYSC”. I especially like the fact that it’s an old-timey sort of song used for the opening of a movie set 700 years in the future.
I like how Michael Crawford sings some lines: “Close your eyesh and see it glishten, Barnaby.”
And at the end it I can’t tell if he is singing “And we won’t come home until we’ve kissed your girl” or something else, 'cause that would be strange if both of them kissed his girl. O_o
Ah, anyway, it’s still a great song. =)
Here is a spoiler for you rachel.
The actual ending of the song “Put ON YOur Sunday Clothes” is
“And we won’t come home until we fall in love.”
[spoil]What happens in the musical is Cornelius and Ms. Milloy do end up kissing each other. When I did it in my school, I was Barnaby and I did not end up kissing my girl, Minnie Fay (which I found kind relaxing and messed up at the same time). But indeed, both Cornelius and Barnaby get their girl in the end.[/spoil]
This song is both beautiful and heartwarming and everything i love it !
