rc s control

you know, when buzz and woody are on th road with rc, they put rc s control on the ground, and aparently they leave it there, because we never see the control again. wouldnt andy wonder what happend to the rc control? and how can he control rc without the control?

ps: if you dont understand what i mean just say it please

I think they picked it up…Andy did have it in Toy Story 2, during his play-sequence when Buzz bursts out of the box. Probably a plot hole…

One thought I’ve wondered was if RC can move independently from the control. If he can, why’d he let Woody use him to knock Buzz out the window? And why would he just stop in the middle of the road? Seems like he could keep going. We see him moving around a lot by himself too.like just around the room and stuff.

They must’ve picked it up at some point because, as YouUnculturedSwine pointed out, we see it again in Toy Story 2. I guess they just left it out and hoped that no-one would notice.

As for the questions you asked, YouUnculturedSwine, I always thought that the way these things worked (if applying the same logic to when Woody makes Buzz do his karate chop action) is that if someone is using the toy’s controller, the toy has to do whatever the controller directs it to, hence why both Buzz and RC did the things they did despite seeming to not want to.

As for him not carrying on, well, his batteries were running out and I’m guessing that with any toy that runs on batteries, if they run out then they just don’t have a choice as to whether or not they can move anymore. To move of their own free will, they need charged batteries in the same way that we as humans need energy to move of our own free will. When we see RC moving about by himself in Andy’s room, he’s still using energy from his batteries- he just wasn’t exhausted in the same way that he was when being forced to chase the removal van.

Perhaps the toys were able to get a new controller from somewhere, in hopes to not make Andy suspicious…

I’ll accept the thing about the toy’s features though, good point about the karate chop action. That explains why Woody let his pull string continue while sneaking past Scud. And I understand the whole battery thing, but that makes me wonder about all the toys without batteries (Potato heads, LGMs, Bo Peep, Hamm, Slinky, etc…

btw, thanks for creating all these lord_zedd, I love to over-think this movie

i dont think the toys need batterys to move, rc was just tired.

and thank you for your answers yourunculturedswine and lizardgirl, i cheked the scene and woody dont grab the control , so i think that s a plothole.

just wondering…can we ask this to lasseter via twitter, he may have the answer

Perhaps Andy had a duplicate or something. Another thing I don’t quite understand in Toy Story is how is Slinky’s spring able to retain so much elasticity after being stretched so far out.

I’m guessing the remote was alive or something…

You didn’t mention Rex; does he have batteries or am I missing something?

Haha, that would certainly explain why Woody said “Save your batteries!” to Rex in TS1. But no, he just a standard Dino figure.

that would be hilarius as a short, the remote going back to rc and a lot of things happend to him on the way
