Yeah. Up is made for ‘more than once’ viewings.

I’m disappointed Sydney is not as enthusiastic with its outdoor advertising… it had Wall-E painted on the bus back panels that I meant to take photos last year, but this year, it’s absolutely dry, not a single bus stop shelter, public transport, billboard or cinema ‘ceiling hanger’ in sight. My local GU plays an interview of Pete Docter and the trailer regularly on their plasma screens, though. May have to pay a visit to Hoyts to see how the competitor is doing… I’ll have to since I can’t redeem Cinebuzz points for repeat viewing (since it’s exclusively in 3D, stinkin’ money-grubbers :frowning:).

As for reviews, I saw a feature in Spectrum from SMH on 3-D movies, and they mentioned Up a lot. That was last weekend. Today, Daily Telegraph had Up as their cover article for their Movie Section, along with a glowing 4/5 star review (although strangely they didn’t mention any negatives, so why the minus-1 star?).

Today’s SMH didn’t have a review, but it made up for it with a huge double-page, lower-half ad space all booked out for Up! I’ve never seen such a big print ad for a movie in a broadsheet before, not to mention it was outside the usual cinema listings area!

I’ll scan/photograph the articles when I have the time and post em’ here to share with you guys. The more publicity, the better, I say.

For those who has Foxtel/AUSTAR (the top subscription TV providers in Australia), there’s some interactive Up spots during some ad breaks, most notibly on FOX8. When the spot comes on, press the Red button on your remote and you get access to a featurette. If it comes on again, I’ll cap it. BTW, it doesn’t work for timeshift channels (I was like pressing the Red button frantically when it came on FOX8 +2 :stuck_out_tongue:)

There is a similar article from one of these source you mentioned: “Pixar has done it again” by Sandra Hall:

smh.com.au/news/entertainmen … 92219.html

Note she says: “There are longuers”. This is a French word that means long, boring sections, usually in novels and music. She claims that the movie becomes a bit frayed toward the end. She isn’t the only critic to come up with this.
