Thanks for your words from yesterday SoA, Evangeline and PixarFan.
Today I have to make a statement at the police station re. the charging of reckless driving on the other driver. Though honestly I do hope to make it clear if I have a choice in the matter I don’t want to get the other driver in trouble and if I do have a choice… to drop the charges I guess?
(I’m not sure if I -do- have a choice in that but considering the fact in domestic violence a skeezbag can get off with knocking about his or her spouse if the victim doesn’t press charges I don’t see why not for something which is actually an accident and no harm was obviously meant).
I mean no-one got seriously hurt and she was the most upset out of the three of us. Plus hers was the car which will never drive again whereas while the boot (back) of the one we were in has some pretty noticable damage was still driveable afterwards.
And I know that in terms of punishment its supposed to prevent that sort of thing happening more or less and I guess we -were- just lucky perhaps given the significant size difference between cars and all (the one we were in was much bigger so we were just violently thrown forward for a good distance, though luckily no-one was ahead of us, otherwise THEY would have been in trouble).
But honestly I don’t think she’ll be doing that sort of thing again after THAT. The experience was a punishment in of itself if I want to think like that (and I kind of don’t, because she was seriously upset and wondering if we were okay and everything too. I am a very soft touch for tears. Though TBH, you’d have to be made of stone not to want to just hug the girl). She was the most scared out of us and well she also lost her car. It is not fixable.
I don’t want to get her into any more trouble or make her more upset.
In the end I’m just going to say what precisly happened in the car and tell the truth but also make it clear that I don’t want her to get into any more trouble over this.
I guess after seeing her cry and all I just would feel like a complete and utter **** if I added something more to it.
I was kind of impressed at how quickly the police came (literally seconds, we’d just got the girl out), but then apparently there was another accident not that far away. I have no idea how that other crash turned out though.
