I’ve looked through some old thread before, and it seems like a lot of really cool people that I would’ve liked to meet have left. It’s pretty depressing, really. Unfortunately, one of the worst things about forums is that sometimes people get too busy in real life to come on anymore. It happens on every online community I’m part of, and it’s not like school, where you see you’re friends everyday no matter what, because you basically lose those people forever. I’m just glad that Pixar is definitely not disappearing anytime soon, and they’re probably always going to be making movies, so that means that this site isn’t going anywhere either. And as long this PP is here, you bet that I won’t be gone anytime soon!
Yeah, I’m glad that you’re not leaving, TDIT!, even though you’ll probably be really busy with your masters! True dedication, right there!
Really gonna miss your constant presence around here, thedriveintheatre! I do hope you manage to find the time to pop on every now and then, though I understand it if not, considering what you’re just about to embark on. Good luck with your Masters, I’m sure you’ll do well considering your journalism experience!
As for Rachel, she seems to be on an indefinite hiatus at the moment now, too. You’re very right, Ding, real life can get in the way a lot and so it’s not surprising that people have to come and go.
At least for me, one of the most exciting aspects of Pixar Planet is that the members are constantly growing and changing. Take for instance a high school: the class of 2010 (which just graduated) may have really represented the school so extremely well for the past four years, and now everyone is talking about how the school won’t be the same without them. However, in just a couple of years a new class will be the pride and joy of the school, and 2010 will just be a fond memory. The same can be said about our forums. When Pixar Planet first was founded, there were many great members that really made this place a wonderful community. Just like Ding said though, life catches up with us all and those original awsome members can no longer frequent the forums. Thankfully, new members are constantly joining, and many of these new members are wonderful people and excellent addditions. They too can one day become the greatest members in Pixar Planet history while we still honor and remember those that have since left!
