They did plan on canceling it in 2005 ending with season 6, but after realizing that the show was second to Spongebob in regards to popuilarity, Nickelodeon decided to grant Hartman with 20 more episode slots…
Oh! I love spongebob! I remember when it first came out, that there was this rumor about it being cancelled because a boy jumped into the ocean and drowned trying to look for spongebob. lol but i guess it was just a myth.

I like Spongebob. I don’t like that Nick basically worships it as their programming God.
