Mr. The King is one of my favorite characters. He’s just so calm and understanding, and easy to understand at the same time. Too bad Chick got away with hurting him.That should’ve landed Chick in jail for that!

Yes you are right. Richard Petty is known as the King. And one of his race cars was the blue #43 1971 Plymouth Superbird, which was used in the movie. His wife, Lynda is portrayed as the station wagon Petty and his family traveled to the races in.
