  • Yes. They weren’t very good.
  • No. But I wish I had!

Who watched the 3-D superbowl ads? Weren’t they awesome?!!! :stuck_out_tongue: Also the Up trailer had some new footage. Ilaughed, and thought it was funny. I even laughed at the old footage! :stuck_out_tongue:

i thought that the 3D commercials were rather lame…they had ground breaking technology that made it really cool but the “90 second preview” was mostly sponsored by NBC and SoBe…it was rather lame in my opinion. Plus all those doritos, go daddy, and other raunchy commericals made them rather unnerving and nausiating…i mean who wants to see a womens[spoil]…breast???[/spoil] Seriously!!!

I almost had to leave the room because i found them rather annoying to my brain.

Other then that there were a couple that struck me as funny…definitly not the best commercial year in the history of Football…

Loved the Up commerical…with my lucky GPS…whoosh…[silence]…ooops. LOL

That was good.

A few were funny, but the rest bored me. My favorite one was the crystal ball and doritoes.

The crystal ball was great…the doritoes one was rather wierd…but the ball was ROFLOL!!!

I like the super bowl ads! I didn’t watch tham all, but my favorite was the doritos ad where [spoil]each time he eats a chip something good happens to him. Then when he runs out of chips, he’s instantly hit by a car.[/spoil] I’ll probably watch the rest of the ads on the internet some other time.

Men

3D thing was so meh. And all the lead up to it and then it’s over before you realize it.

In comparison to years past it the commercials were pretty weak. The one that stood out was the Miller High Life one. Brilliant and cost saving! They only needed one second and it’s the only one I can still remember. youtube.com/watch?v=jyJXIBYSrjo

I don’t get all the hype over a sporting event! To me, superbow is a place a few miles away where i go bowling, and why are the ads so hyped aswell?

Well, I suppose that’s when all the new trailers for upcoming summer movies make their debut. The clip where Wall-E messes with the BNL vacuum with Buzz and Woody watching the TV premiered during the Superbowl. Lots of other upcoming movies like Monsters Vs Aliens, Transfomers 2 and yes, Up, are making their premiere now too. American viewers, please tell the rest of us what other movies are featured, I’m very interested to know! (As for the football, or rugby as the British territories calls it, I’m er… not really interested)

Here are some of the movie previews that were featured:

I believe later on, some of the other ads may be on here:

WALL-E: The Superbowl is one of America’s most exciting and favored traditions. It is the final football game of the regualr season. (When I say football, I mean American footbal, not soccer). The Superbowl is one of America’s most viewed events on TV. Thousands watch it live, but millions and millions watch it on TV. With that being said, advertisers spend millions of dollars to make their commercial memorable enough for people to buy their products.

You are talking to a football lover here folks. I know a lot about football and the Superbowl.

That’s pretty cool that they were in 3D! Did it actually work well?

the 3D ad was good but only for far away shots…the lizard ad was more 3d than the aliens V.S. monsters. I could almost see no difference between the tv and the glasses in the dreamworks ad. The first scene (ping-pong) was really 3d but everything else was rather 2D…it wasn’t quite there yet.

Still it was neat to actually see the little ball bouce out at you…that was neat.

Pretty boring commercials this year. The only ones I liked were the Up commercial (of course), the crystal ball commercial, and the Potato Head commercial.

I only watched the Up and the ones in 3-D. The red and blue glasses were rather junky if you ask me. It was still pretty cool watching it in 3-D though.

Unfortunately Pixar is 2 for 2 when it comes down to ‘underwhelming Superbowl ads.’

I’m a bit disappointed in the ads this year. A number of them seemed to fall under the “pale continuations/homages of last year’s ads.” The Sobe spot, for example was not nearly as good as last year’s Sobe “Thriller” dance. The Budweiser Clydesdale ads seemed a bit off. Bud Light had a number of very funny ads last year, I can’t remember a single one this year.

This isn’t the 1960s. “3D” does not drive people to the theater anymore. Good content in 3D can, or at least make the difference between “see it in the theater” and “rent it from Netflix.” There was no good content in the 3D spot.

GoDaddy.com continues to not inspire. They had a funny bit making fun of the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction, but ever since that ad they’ve tried to reach that hight again and failed. This time they just decided “awww… screw it. We’re just going straight for boobs now.” Sure, they get their name out there, but the people who actually make the decisions about what hosting provider to use are not going to be filled with confidence about a company that looks like it’s helmed by frat boys. This part of the Internet actually is srius bsness. Did any non-technical person actually get from the ads that GoDaddy is a company hosting DNS entries and web sites?

I’m really sick of the E*Trade baby. A spot last month crosses the line into pedophila for me, something I don’t think is funny. This Superbowl one was harmless though.

Definitely an off year for the ads.

I love watching the superbowl ads!! even if i dont like the teams playing, ill watch the game for the commercials!

Even though this years ads were a bit dissapointing, i still thought they were pretty funny!

Sorry dreamworks, but your super bowl trailer sucked :stuck_out_tongue:
It’s got a 3D picture if you saved your glasses!

Have to agree. I wished for something… more… interesting. Like the leaked “planes” painting. It opened up in my mind all kinds of curiosity but we’ve never seen it since. IDK if kids love it and the average Joes remember it.

The ‘planes painting’ is now on the official website: disney.go.com/disneypictures/up/
