I think she would still try to keep her as her daughter.
if she did love her, she would let her have her own life. Even if she is protective, she would have to learn she can’t stay forever.
Selfish love is not proper love. If you love someone the right way, you put them first. If you are selfish, you love them, but yourself more. Just like Gothel.

I’m actually working on a review for Tangled if anybody is interested in reading it. Anyway, the biggest problem I had with this movie was it’s climax. I will admit Flynn getting stabbed and killed was kind of a shocker and unexpecting. Rapunzel reviving him at the end I thought was kind of cheesey and predictable, which was pretty lame. I think they should of had a different and more better ending without Flynn almost getting killed and all.
