Tangled

I’ve gotta check it out^^.

You should. It definitely won’t disappoint!

I’ll do that later today.

No way I’m going to watch this in a horrid camcorder copy.

I’ll wait for an HD release, because the visuals look awesome.

I’m guessing someone will put it up in better quality later on.

Probably ^^.

When it’s released on DVD and Blu-ray.

It will be harder to find if SOPA passes.

I wish I was seeing the short in theatres, but sadly I’m not.

I’ll probably check out the short again once it comes on the Disney channel.

I agree with Ballboi; it was too short. But I really liked it. I just wish they would have [spoil]focused on the animals[/spoil] less.

They should of added a couple filler scenes showing what was going on at the wedding when Pascal and Maximus were after the rings.

I’ll have to check it out sometime.

Like I said, I definitely recommend checking it out if you haven’t yet.

I’ll probably do it today.

As there was some discussion on this topic, way back before Tangled was released, maybe the thread is worth revisiting.

Here are similarities between Barbie As Rapunzel (released October 2002) and Tangled:

  1. Gothel abducts baby Rapunzel from the king and queen and keeps Rapunzel as her own child, with a lengthy list of chores for Rapunzel to do.

  2. Rapunzel is hidden in a tower accessed by a tunnel deep within the woods on the outskirts of the kingdom.

  3. Rapunzel is a painter and stargazer who sings of dreams she hopes will come true.

  4. Gothel tells Rapunzel that the world outside is evil. Rapunzel disobeys Gothel and explores the village, where people (including a group of young girls) treat her with kindness.

  5. Rapunzel’s dress is lavender and pink with puffy shoulders.

None of which is to suggest that Disney ripped off Mainframe’s Barbie movie, even though it was released when Rapunzel/Tangled was in very early pre-production. In the earlier film, Gothel is a scorned woman like whom hell hath no fury. In fact, she’s a magic-blast-throwing sorceress. Her goal is to promote pain and anguish between two feuding kingdoms out of spite, and it’s implied that she plans to fill the power vacuum if the kings kill each other. There is no immortality/magic hair element. Overall, the two films are different riffs on the same fairy tale.

But…at least for the above listed elements, fair play to any viewers who saw Tangled and were reminded of Barbie As Rapunzel.

^^Interesting comparison, didn’t realize they shared some similarities beyond the title character. I don’t know that I ever saw the movie, but I might have owned a Rapunzel Barbie.

Saw the short today. Definitely needed more Flynn and Rapunzel, but what was there was excellent. I was also surprised at hearing the [spoil]Queen’s voice.[/spoil] Wish we got to hear it when she wasn’t so angry.

I loved that the short guy with the beard appeared to be [spoil]as drunk as ever.[/spoil] And that the town now has [spoil]frying pan stores[/spoil] 8D

That is an interesting comparison JustSteve.

Interesting comparison there. I can see some sort of resemblence between the two.

I really liked the short, but sympathise with everything thus said :stuck_out_tongue:
