Tangled

Exactly!

Just dropping in on this thread to tell you guys that earlier this month I had the pleasure of meeting Glen Keane in London, and managed to procure an original sketch of Rapunzel which he drew for me, (in about 30 seconds, chatting to me about animation all the while!) in addition to getting my Animators’ Collection Doll box signed:

I’m so happy I was able to get a sketch of Rapunzel, whom I specifically requested. I kinda broke the rules, as officially he was only meant to be signing the toddler dolls. However he was kind enough to oblige (much to the dissaproval of all those who hadn’t thought to bring sketchpads with them 8D ), Now I am the proud owner of such an exciting original artwork on which I can’t put a price. I shall get it framed in due course and keep it always.

Glen himself was very friendly, and as a fellow animator and huge admirer I have always been very keen to meet him. Never thought I’d get the chance - and probably never will again.

Wow, you’re very lucky, booh!

That’s probably true.

That is so awesome booh88.

I think it’s a fine song, now RN’s greatst. I can’t think of another song that should of been nominated instead. I’d perfer if only 1 Tangled song was nommed, because usually when more than one is nominated, votes are split.

booh88: I’ve never been so jealous in my life.

I also think that only one Tangled song should’ve been nominated.

It should^^.

It’s still possible. One reason I thought was when she said “That’s how fast he’ll leave you.”

I wonder if a man she loved left her for a younger looking woman or something. Because she looks old, she finds out about the flower, later finds it and uses it.

I’m pretty sure the writers didn’t go into that, but that’s the beauty of people being able to make their own personal theories.

Some theories can make a lot of sense, and then their are those that don’t. Their are some theories for movies and shows that make me wonder.

I really need to see this movie again.

I haven’t watched it in a while, I would like to buy it at sometime.

I don’t collect Disney films anymore, but if I did, this one would be a great one to start.

Aw, is there any reason you don’t collect them? I do personally. I also collect Pixar, and the OCCASIONAL Dreamworks film.

Anyhow, I ran out and bought this on DVD the day it came out. 8D

The simple enough reason that it’s quite hard to buy films in this country. I wouldn’t start the impossible task of collecting the 51 films in this canon, because quite frankly no one can.

Then there’s the fact that I’m not a Disney fan at all 8D

Oh. :frowning: I thought you liked most of them.

I like most of them, but that don’t makes me a fan.

Remember most people here are animation fans. I’m not. I’m a film fan, animation or live-action.

Thus, I can’t own very film I like, because I haven’t a limited pool.

I know we’ve debated about Gothel’s feelings for Rapunzel on here before. This interview clip surfaced on Tumblr recently. Glen Keane talks about developing Gothel and her relationship with Rapunzel. At one point he says “Does Mother Gothel love Rapunzel? Yes. Like a possession.” I don’t know if we’ve ever heard anything definitive on the subject from the people behind the film, so it’s interesting to hear. Keane also says they animated scenes with Gothel as many as 10 times over to try to show this possessive relationship.

I think that shows thru, that she loves her in that way^^.

Wow, what a great interview! Thanks for sharing. I think they accomplished their goal perfectly.
