The Little Mermaid TV series was made in a very cheap traditional animation technique, while producing a CGI series about Tangled would be simply too expensive. So it’s unlikely.
What about the same animation used for Penguins of Madagasscar and was used for Jimmy Neutron by Nick? I am sure Disney could do something.
Ugh. Tangled was a masterpiece of beautiful animation, that showcased what computer animation can do. I would hate to see the animation dumbed down to that level. The animation on the Penguins show is insipid.
^ My point exactly.
Madagascar animation was already bad, so the show was possible. But using that kind of animation for Tangled would look simply awful.
cgi animated shows always get more pricy with the more quality added. Which is why (I assume) Buzz Lightyear of star command the dtv and the show were in 2d.
It all depends on how much $ would be poured into it. Personally growing up I loved watching the little mermaid tv series, Aladdin the series, Hercules the series, Timon and Pumbaa and the legend of Tarzan. I’d to see Tangled and even The Princesses and the Frog included in this.
The Clone Wars spends a lot of money for a CGI TV show. It probably has the best quality there is in a TV show, specially later seasons.
And yet… It isn’t anywhere near Tangled quality. So imagine how much money they would need to invest. I highly doubt they can.
I don’t mind if the quality is less then what the movie was since it is a tv show. As long as some effort into it and have great stories.
Personally, I would hate a Tangled TV show. For the lower animation, and just because that’s a bit ridiculous. I’m very excited for the short, and honestly, a theater-played, amazing quality Tangled sequel would be great for me. But not a TV series.
I get the whole quality thing but think about it. Most of these movies with great tv shows (except for Emperor’s new school that show had good quality overall I’d say) had quality that left more to be desired because it is cheaper. Quality isn’t the most important thing. Yes Tangled had beautiful quality and it was pure eye candy to watch but if it was broing I would have hated it. But it had astory to back it up.
Alladin the tv series had mediocre quality. But the stories were so good it had a good fanbase. Though poor quality cgi is worse then poor quality tradional, if these characters can have good stories I’d love and support a show for Tangled any time.
Let’s keep this discussion going till we hit 100 pages! we’re on 94 now.
95 actually!
What do you propose we talk about that’s Tangled related?
no.1: what sets Rapunzel and her story apart from other Disney Princesses;
no.2: Did Mother Gothel REALLY love her??
no.3: what the wedding’s gonna be like and
no.4: random line-throwing! Someone posts a line from a song and the next poster continues it
Hopefully that makes for five pages!
Rapunzel is set apart because she has green eyes, she has the best Princess singing voice(IMO, of course), she loves to paint, and…she’s awesome.
Yes, Mother Gothel did love her.
Maybe she did, but why do you think so?
Because she’s usually nice to her, and very affectionate. It would be just as easy to raise her without affection, but she seems to really love her IMO.
I think Gothel does love her, in her own way. The whole “I love you more, I love you most” dialogue shows that. Her concern for Rapunzel’s favorite things- the hazelnut soup and the paints- also adds to that. Gothel wouldn’t have put forth the effort to make those happen if she didn’t care. But Gothel loves herself and her youth more than Rapunzel, which is why she could never put her daughter’s best interests ahead of her own and let her out of the tower.
Speaking of which, I watched it again today! ) And I figured, maybe Gothel has an interesting backstory of her own. In the part when she tells Rapunzel, ‘Trust me my dear, that’s how fast he’ll leave you’ she really seems like she knows what she’s talking about. Hmm, intriiiiiigue! What happened before the flower and the tower an everything?
Ah, that is interesting. Now I want to know.
I agree. Also she didn’t have to go on the three day journey to get the sea shells for her. She did it because she loved Rapunzel.
Were you there during that?! I was! That would have been funny is we met eachother but didnt know it…
