I always get nervous when I’m in a mexican resturant because there are some food items which I have no kowledge about. (chimichanga, enchilladas, fajitas, etc)
Really? I don’t mean this in a negative way, but they all taste very similar to me. I mean, they’re all distinct, but if you like one, you’ll probably like any of them if prepared by the same person.
Personally, I prefer my salsa a little spicy.
Same here! Spicy and hot!
I love enchiladas, especially with salsa verde and sour cream. Maaaaannn so good. Today for lunch I had a taco salad.
I don’t like spicy things. Maybe had I lived in Louisiana or somewhere, it would be different. But it makes me sick to the stomach. I need lots of sour cream.
Oh, i love spicy, but I do have a limit. I can’t take it if it’s very spicy. In fact, when my family takes me out to eat at a thai spices resturant, some of their foods are really spicy that as soon as it touches your tounge, you are sweating, wishing for a glass of water.
There was mention of In-N-Out a few posts back. I believe I tried it once on my trip to America, but I couldn’t remember much about it since it’s been six years since! They have Carls Jr. in Singapore though, I’m a huge fan of their Portobello Mushroom burgers! American burgers are so huge, the ones in Singapore and Malaysia and smaller. And the ones in Australia… are measly! I’d thought they’d be at least bigger than S’pore and M’sia…
On the topic of Chinese foods, I believe most Chinese foods in America aren’t as ‘authentic’ as the ones in China, of course. Chop Suey, for example, is contested as an American invention, although there’s evidence to the contrary. There are even Mexican-Asian fusion eateries in L.A. I want to try out, I read about such a chain in Newsweek or Times but I forgot the name. Apparently, they’re doing so well, they’re even expanding into Mexico.
As for chilis, you guys are all a bunch of PANSIES! No tongue can stand as much spice as a Malaysian can! Have you guys tried ‘bird’s eye chili’? It’s called ‘cili padi’ in Southeast Asia. I eat this all the time with my noodles/rice. I don’t need to drink water, and I can finish an entire pod (we cut it into slices and serve it in soya sauce).
I pour tabasco on my pasta… I always pick the spiciest flavour for Nando’s Portugese Chicken, I drink ma la tang, and I don’t sip water unless to rinse my mouth or wash the food down, not because it’s spicy or anything. And I love Indian curry, especially if it’s authentic and not the watered-down, milky versions they have in Australia. And the tom yum… urgh… they’re so wimpy in Oz, they even taste sweet!
If it’s hot, I eat 'em all man. Some of my friends and family call me “the chili king”, I’m not joking!
Did you guys see this episode of Man vs Food of a legendary San Jose BBQ eatery? I want to try this! One of my life dreams is to eat the hottest chili on the Scoville scale (which is much-debated, as there is so many species of chili!).
Dude, you really love your spicy foods do ya? How are you able to take it?
I know it is not very healthy, but I love pizza and cakes, I try to eat them onece a week, just to be in a good shape, hehehehehe
I love Pizza, too
I’m having Pizza on Friday
I am jelous, anyway, I’ll be having on Sunday
Dude, you can never go wrong wit pizza. My favorite toppings include cheese, peperoni, red pepper, sausage, ham, salami, shrimp, squid, truffle oil, mushrooms, and chicken.
I don’t know if you remember, but did you think the In-N-Out burger was huge? Because I consider it to be undersized! At my house, the patty itself is usually made 1 1/2 inches thick! That’s a pretty fat burger, especially compared to most food places!
With my bare tongue?
Maybe? Bigger than what I’m used to, from my memory? I don’t know how thick’s 1 1/2 inches (cos’ the rest of the world uses Metric ), but I’m pretty sure that’s thicker than the patties here Down Under!
I’m looking through the posts in this thread (which I’m glad has been resurrected, as I started it! ), and I’m wondering…
Why does the topic keep returning to pizza? I love pizza as much as the next Italian, but you guys really need to be more adventurous in your diets!
I’m terrible with Metric distance measures! I think the US should switch to Metric though, it would make life for everyone so much easier! I am good with Metric temperatures though, but that’s because I set my temperature gage in my car to metric! Which confuses my friends.
Haha, when I play racing/driving video games, I leave it in imperial!
I have started to eat a little more healthy now. (Not saying that I’m unhealthy or fat.) But I have started to love salads now. What do you all think of salads?
Because pizza is awesome!!! I try lots of odd food(once at a Japanese sushi restaurant I tried octopus), but pizza is the God of food. I like lots of stuff, but I could live off of pizza. Especially sausage. Actually, that and lobster are the only toppings I like! Ironic, yes?
Might have to throw in Mccoys Thai sweet sweet sweeeeet chicken in there too.
Ew. I hate chicken. Shrimp is my favorite type of meat.
