Just posting a few photos I took in Barcelona.
On the second day, (the first day was just travelling) we went right into the centre of Barcelona and into it’s world-famous market. It truly is amazing; it has all these sections, like sweets or fruit or meat, and some of the produce is just incredible. I’ve never seen food like it. It varied from the most mouth-watering sweets (below) to skinned sheeps’ heads, eyes still intact.
Outside of the market, there’s a very long, wide street. There are shops either side, then two roads, and then a wide pedestrian footpath down the middle. This bit was very strange indeed, as there must’ve been dozens of outdoor pet shops. Hundreds of animals, from chickens, to hamsters, to lizards, to even dogs and cats, in these little collections of cages, waiting to be sold. Very, very strange. And, further down, there were many street performers with some of the most elaborate costumes. These two guys had to be the freakiest- they road their bikes and honked their horns if you gave them money, and even the skeletons moved.
The cathedral of Barcelona is well-known for its strange architecture and enormous proportions. Its construction began about 120 years ago, and it still isn’t finished even to this day.
The rooftop of one of Gaudi’s extraordinary buildings. It has around fifty chimneys, and practically each one has its own individual design.
Amazing pictures there lizardgirl. I really like them. Barcelona looks beautiful. Makes me want to go there.
wow, now i want to go there just to stare at the food, lol…

Awesome photos, lizardgirl.
Those sweets made my mouth water… And the statue people seem to be in every touristy spot in the world, but I can’t say that I’ve ever seen one with a skeleton next to them. What a sight!
Incredible pictures! ![]()
I’ve never seen anything like this before. It’s so beautiful. Makes me want to go there.
Thanks, guys!
I did buy some of those sweets, but they were ridiculously expensive. One of my friends went a bit overboard and bought a whole bag, but it cost her nearly twenty Euro! And she felt pretty sick after eating them all. ![]()
Well that is what humans tend to do when they go on a trip nowadays, eat be wild, spend money and get sick in the end.
