The Wikipedia Thread

But most of the time, it is correct, but one article was very twisted, so I had to rewrite it.

Who says? :stuck_out_tongue:

I happen to have knowlege on the subject and somebody had twisted it to a very vulgar way.

I think wikipedia is a very credible source most of the time.

Just because anyone can edit anything doesn’t mean everything is false and/or untrue.

i s’pose

Wiki has been helpful to me so far. THere hasn’t been a time where I haven’t found it misleading yet.

I use it quite a bit and 99% of the time it has matched up with other sources.

It is useful but sometimes people post a lot of false things on it.

TSS: Remember Rollie? And Don Quixote?
WALL·E: At least you’re checking other sources, but don’t believe anything from it, unless there’s a reference by that statement, and even if there is, check it, because they’ve got a huge problem with using gossip sites.

A113: FOr you, but not for me on those two.

 I don’t get it.

I’m talking about when lots of Pixar Planeteers were tricked by Wickedpedia those two times. I don’t want it to happen again.

Okay, well, it is safe to say I can trust Wikipedia 99.9% of the time. Two articles our of thousands to millions I have checked in my life time. I can trust it.

If you see something in article that you know isn’t true, you either remove it and request that evidence be supplied for that claim, or post something on the talk page. Just as people can post something untrue, the flipside to that is that if you doubt it you can ask for a reference (an outside reference, such as IMDb or the Pixar website, for example). It works both ways, A113.

which is why you see

“this article does not cite it sources”

i’m not saying to not use Wikipedia; i’m saying to not trust everything it says, because it has many errors that still need to be fixed.

And i know how to use Wikipedia; i have an account there. Just figuring out a way to “move in”.

But most, if not all, of the articles I got to are about 99-100 percent accurate.

Would everyone please stop calling Buy n Large a megacorporation‽’

TSS: O RLY?

yes A113. I checked with, then I check other sources and wiki is just about accurate 99-100% of the time.

Another fine example of their lies.

A113: If you look at my posts carefully, I said “articles that I go to”, not yours, mine!
