Toy Story TV screenings

Yeah it can be annoying especially when the credits are pretty clever and you want to see them. But they figure most people dont care, plus it gives them a chance to show a promo for something else while those scrunched credits are going (as if there arent enough commercials already).

I wonder if Channel 7 will broadcast a bugs life? I’ve seen it once (in the theatres) when I was like… 4 or something and I can barely remember any of the movie.

So far Channel 7 has played every Pixar film in the past couple of years except A Bug’s Life and Ratatouille. Hopefully they’ll be played soon.

Even WALL·E?

No, not WALL•E, unfortunately. It takes like at least 2 years for movies to get on to free to air. Pay TV like Austar and Foxtel seem to get them earlier, but for some reason I still haven’t seen any Pixar movies on them.

I was able to buy walle at a hotel…it was one of those watch on demand things…$16 for one viewing.

You could record it though for private use…[wink] [jk]

I meant Pixar films that had been released on home video.

oh…why doesn’t walle count??

It will be coming out soon and some on demand movie buying companies already have walle for sale??

I was just saying that walle i somewhat already on tv becuase you can watch him on your tv via on demand or hotel rentals…then if its legal you could record the movie for private use only…

We don’t have that on-demand feature in Australia, and you typically have to wait about 4 - 8 months from when it’s released on home video for it to get to cable, then another year or so for it to go to free-to-air TV, if they choose to play it, that is.

But I like that idea of the on-demand thing, especially if the transmission is of good quality. Not sure of the legality of recording something from the TV, but everyone does it and you aren’t going to get arrested for it.

Wow…ya On demand is a cable program that allows you to watch movies just released or really old for a big price.

They have on demand features on that Foxtel IQ thing, but they’re all free (except for box office). I don’t really know much about them because I don’t have an IQ, but I know of their existence.

How’d ya know I like Die Hard? Musta been followin’ my threads have you?
And I also hope 7 airs Bugs and Rat soon.

Wboon: Yeah, I wish I have Disney Channel. Only time I could watch it is at my grandma’s place in Malaysia. But then, most of the new shows are kinda boring, Kim Possible, Lilo & Stitch and Emperor’s New School are the only ones I would watch off the top of my head.
And I agree people should give more attention to A Bug’s LIfe.

lennonluvr9: Again, I’d second that.

Al-Bob: Neat, that’s pretty fast to have it on demand before the DVD’s even out.

Pewpewpew: I wish I had access to HD. I don’t know whether my TV has a HD tuner, but I can’t get Digital or HD on any channels (at least to my knowledge). Fox does give the HD option, but you need to buy their set-top box and pay a monthly subscription fee to channels like Nat Geo and Discovery.

That would have been the last time in a while that the Toy Story movies would be shown here, since I’m pretty sure Disney wouldn’t want people to see it too early for free on TV before the movies are re-released in cinemas…

Ha-ha. Not necessarily. I saw it in one of your videos and you explained it to me why you used the Die Hard reference. =)

Since thedriveintheatre is on hiatus, I guess it’s my job to let Aussies know that just about one year after the last event, Channel 7 is again playing a Toy Story and Toy Story 2 double-feature this Saturday starting at 7:00pm! What a cool Halloween treat. :sunglasses:

But no need to watch Monsters vs Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space at 6:30pm - now THAT would be scary.

Did anyone catch it? I caught all of Toy Story through digital and then the first third of Toy Story 2 on Seven HD. Let me tell you, if you have a HD receiver you should switch it over because the visuals and audio is amazing! I wanted to record both in HD, but our VCR only records to VHS so it would have negated the point, he he.

I think the Pixar movie events on Saturday nights may be over for now. According to the Foxtel guide next Saturday at 6:30pm is Independence Day which although I do want to catch it, it’s an interesting choice for family movie time, but alrighty then.

Since rachelcakes1985 is on hiatus, I guess it’s my job to let Aussies know that just about half a year after the last event, Channel 7 is again playing a Toy Story and Toy Story 2 double-feature this Saturday starting at 6:30pm!

Yeah, I pinched the entire passage from her earlier post. Wonder where she’s gone… I kinda miss her already… :frowning:

Keep your fingers crossed for any Toy Story 3 ads, since we’re less than a month away from its theatrical release! Maybe even an ident or two with that living TV mascot:wink:

It’s odd that there were no TS3 ads in in either of the movies. The credits were way better this time aswell. For people who didn’t see, they went straight from the first to the second, then had both play at the same time after TS2, with the ‘bloopers’ playing over the top. And no shrinking them down either.
