Nobody laughed! Not a soul! Which I found quite odd. Same for [spoil]Dr. Porkchop’s pig-shaped ship[/spoil] - I wanted to laugh, nobody else did.
The first laugh the movie got was old Buster collapsing on Woody, actually. But from there onwards everybody was laughing all the way through. Hell, some weird people were laughing [spoil]when Andy was describing the toys to Bonnie - that was supposed to be poignant, not funny, you silly people![/spoil]
I know he’s characterized as being a kid at heart and it’s supposed to be emotional, which it totally was, but they did go a little over with Andy’s “yee-haw!” I think…you can’t blame people laughing at his face and voice when he does that, of course like I said they accomplished touching moments over and over, it’s not like they didn’t do a good job on that scene
[spoil]Yeah, I gathered that people in the audience found his mannerisms silly… but still, I thought it was obvious, even to the average movie-goer, that he was reverting back to his younger self. Oh well. Everyone had stopped laughing by Slinky’s explaination, so they didn’t ruin the emotion of the scene too much.[/spoil]
That pretty much destroyed my entire experience of the movie. Everyone around me was cracking up. Even when the movie was over I heard someone behind me say [spoil]Andy’s speech about Woody was stupid[/spoil]. Ugh.
everybody else- Average movie goers are really wierd people! I saw TS3 twice, and the first time the audience was horrible. Laughter was rare, there was alot of distracting commentary, my mom was being annoying*, and nobody noticed Sid or the Pizza Planet truck. The second audience was great! Everybody was having fun, nearly every single joke had a huge laugh, I was able to enjoy it better with my friends, and although nobody noticed the PP truck or Sid here either, everybody cried. After past experience from seeing Wall-E and Up for the first times, I remembered to bring a full box of tissues to Toy Story 3, during the second show people next to me were taking tissues from my box! I didn’t mind, but I’m glad the second audience was so great. I’m glad I didn’t have an audience like the ones you guys are talking about.
*You see, whenever I see a movie with my mom, she always does a specific annoying thing. It has to be an animated movie where something romantic is occurring in slow-motion with lights in the background and is casually funny. It’s an extremelly specific moment in all the animated movies I’ve seen with her, where she lets out a shriek of laughter. Actually, it’s more like a giggling squeal! This has happened in Toy Story 3, How to Train Your Dragon, and Up among others.
I think I remember seeing that, but I’m not too sure. Chuckles- That’s exactly how a lot of people act whenever I go see a movie. I especially hate all those little kids trying to repeat the movie. The most annoying happened during Up.
Kid1- What did that dog just say? Was it “I can smell you?”
Kid2- No, It’s “I can SPELL you.”
Kid1- Oh, ok. I can spell you! HA!
It was so annoying. But this time during TS3, the first audience was the best audience I’ve ever had for a Pixar movie, especially since there were only about 9 other people, and only 2 of them were kids. But the second was quite noisy.
umm i know its a lil late but they all rode home in a bagage truck. And it clesrly shows it when Andy found Jessie and Bullseye and was running around and the camera pans twords the window where you see the bagbage truck on the neibors lawn.
Kids can be rather annoying.
For both of my viewings of Toy Story 3, after everyone had laughed at [spoil]Mr Tortilla Head,[/spoil] a kid just shouted out “WHY IS THAT FUNNY!?”.
Both viewings! Different kids as well, I assume.
I’m curious about the Potato Heads. Do they have control of all of their parts at all times (such as the angry eyes when they’re not wearing them)? Can they control the movement of their body or only the parts? At the end of Toy Story 3 I also noticed that [spoil]Mrs. Potato Head’s other eye blinks before she picks it up.[/spoil] Does that mean that whenever she was in alive mode it would blink, or only when she’s using it? In either case, wouldn’t somebody notice?
I always questioned the point of having angry eyes since they can already look angry without them, although I understand it was all for a gag in TS2 (and they would serve as a means to be played with while looking angry).
Yet another thing I noticed while watching Toy Story 3 today.
In both the first Toy Story and Toy Story 3, we see the toys sleeping at night. So, then if humans woke up at night, wouldn’t they see the toys sleeping? It would’ve made more sense to just leave them in their toy modes.
