TV Shows You Watch

One of the greatest shows ever! Who is your favorite muppet?

edit: 900th post!

Always hard to say… right now I think I like Statler and Waldorf… it tends to change from time to time. I also like Kermit, Gonzo, Fozzie, and some of the background characters you never get to know. Oh, and I like Dr. Honeydew.

[EDIT]-

Congratulations!

Fozzie Bear all the way!

Snipe & love70ways: I love all of those characters too, in fact, I love basically all the characters because the Muppets are a great cast! Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, Fozzi, Gonzo are all awesome.

But for me the one that is the greattest is Sam the Eagle (as I’ve mentioned on another forum!) His overpatriotism and overconservatism as far as entertainment goes are hilarious, and I love his exploits of trying to make The Muppet Show “A place for clean and wholsome family entertainment”

Can’t believe I forgot Animal! He’s my absolute favorite (I knew I was forgeting something). Sam the eagle is a favorite, too.

where to start?

Star Trek: The next generation/ Voyager/Enterprise
Burn Notice
Psych
Royal Pains
Covert Affairs
White Collar
Lie to Me
Chuck
House
Phineas and Ferb
Kick Buttowski
PINKS ALL OUT
Back at the Barnyard
ect…

The only current show I watch is South Park, but I also like to watch:

The Twilight Zone (60s version)
Avatar
Double Dare
Star Trek (the original series)
Animaniacs
Pokemon (only the original episodes)
Ren and Stimpy
Invader Zim
and the News if you count it.

I’m more in to movies anyways, but here’s a list of shows I watched in the 90s, and at this very moment.

Great that I’m not alone about PS!!!

Chuckles: I’m glad there’s another 1990s Nicktoons fan here! I love Anamaniacs and Invader ZIM! Do you like Angry Beavers and Hey Arnold as well?

I didn’t get into Hey Arnold too well when I was younger, but I did get into Angry Beavers instead cause I suppose it just spoke to me more. I guess the really cartoony stuff always spoke to me the most.

Haha, my younger brother and I used to love that show! I would side with Norbert and my bro would root for Daggett. I always choose the straight-man and he would choose the nutcase in cartoons. xD I remember this one episode where we both laughed so hard; the beavers were in a hardboiled detective movie or something and they were trying to escape the villain with the damsel, but the lady just kept tripping and falling over! I can’t remember the episode title, anyone remembers?

thedriveintheater: I dont’ know which episode it is, but it sounds hilarious!
I just checked on Amazon, and they finally released the first season of The Angry Beavers on DVD! On my list of things I need to buy! Once I get a job!

Edit: I just checked, they also have Rocko’s Modern Life on DVD as well. This is amazing!

I have Animaniacs Season 1, I have to buy all the others. I also have the 3rd season of Invader ZIM, need to buy the other two! And now I’ve added Rocko’s Modern Life and Angry Beavers to my list. Ugh, I need a job!

Hmm… I don’t really like Rocko, maybe cos’ it’s like CatDog in the sense that they are too cruel to the main character and he always loses, or that the awkward pauses or exaggerated facial gestures get on my nerves. Maybe I’d enjoy it as an adult, but I certainly hated it as a kid (Some episodes even made me cry, like the one where the turtle whatsisname imagined his demise in dread of a public speaking event. Gruesome. :shake: ). I did like the alternate theme song by Pat Irwin, though.

If you’ve been following this thread and my recent sigs, you’d have known I was fangushing about the return of Australia’s homegrown police procedural, Rush. Based on the real-life Critical Incident Response Team of the Victorian Police Force, the fictionalized version (aptly dubbed as Tactical Response Unit) handles emergencies too dangerous for uniforms, but not quite warranting the Special Operations Group big-guns. This season’s opener begins spectacularly enough with a terrifying ‘game of chicken’ against an aircraft, and just keeps going with helicopter heists, serial bombings, and a seige at a cash deposit facility.

Rodger Corser, the bloke some Aussies might recognise from the Hyundai ads, leads the team as the indomitable Sergeant Lawson Blake, but is in danger in cracking from the fallout from last season’s failed bus hijacking hostage rescue attempt. Stella (my favourite character next to ‘Sergeant Awesome’ played by the lovely Nicole da Silva) copes with her new job as a uniform after resigning from the team when Internal Affairs uncovered she accidentally killed a civilian in the bus rescue. She struggles with her feelings for Michael, her former colleague. Bad-tempered Josh tries to rein in the eager greenie Christian, played by newcomer Kevin Hofbauer. Tough sheila Shannon and family man Dom round up the rest of the team. And of course, Police Chief Kerry Vincent gets to pout a lot and chide Sergeant Awesome whenever he steps out of line, with a little help from tech whiz Leon.

It seems like the producers have really pulled out all the stops; this episode is the most professional-looking of the entire series and features better cinematography (less shakey cam!) than previous seasons. When the [spoil]chopper lifts away from the team with the bandits escaping with the loot[/spoil], that moment was almost cinematic. If this is the standard they’ve set for the rest of the season, I can’t wait to tune in every week for my adrenaline dose!

So I just watched the second episode of Jamie’s Food Revolution (I missed the pilot last week). Our Brit-on-a-mission is in the little town of Huttington, USA, where he tries to convince Central City Elementary and the local community to change their poor diet habits.

Personally, Jamie does come off as self-righteous and a tad idealistic in his personal crusade at times. But then you see how kids as old as 6 couldn’t identify simple vegetables like potatoes and eggplants, or how they still use their hands to eat food and have never handled eating utensils before. Or how an overweight American family with diabetes insists on their daily meal of pizzas instead of trying out Jamie’s recipes and ingredients he specially bought for them.

This is not just a simple matter of poor lifestyle choices or personal habits, although it is to an extent. It is an entire system, of school administrators who favour the bottom line at the expense of their students’ health, and parents who couldn’t be bothered to question what meals they’re paying for their children. It is appalling, shocking, and as Jamie aptly puts it, sure to “stir up s***”. But it is a message all too timely and necessary in this age of shortcut food preparation and convenience.

Cupcake-in-a-cup, anyone?

Lol TDIT
I’l have a cupcake in a cup
I have been trying to get myself to watch Modern Family, and trying to buy the plot on iTunes, but Top Gear is always on :frowning:
I always have to go with TG, but, it’s on Sunday, so that’s good
Did you hear, the woman who plays the spanish woman, (Don’t know her name  )
She said, she will run nude if Modern Family wins a Emmy , what does that prove?!

I find Sofia Vergara very attractive! And yes, I really hope she wins an Emmy!

This week’s episode of Rush was so gripping, even my mum (who usually doesn’t watch police dramas) was hooked! The team are on a manhunt for a serial shooter on the loose in Melbourne who has been targeting emergency personnel. And just when you think it’s all over, a twist appears that sends them back into action!

But the coolest part is there is a Pixar reference! I remember last season there was a cameo of the Up poster in the background. This time, it’s an ‘Incredibles’ character reference…

Christian, one of the officers, has to escort a pair of kids to safety after their mother becomes one of the victims of the shootings. As words of encouragement, he employs his usual descriptions of being invincible and all that, but then adds:

“You know Dash? Dash, from The Incredibles? I can run as fast as him, and I’ll carry you all to safety.”

Besides being especially touching at the moment, I was grinning for the Pixar reference.* Gosh, I love this show.

*Australian residents should be able to watch the ep online (I’ll post a link when they’ve uploaded it). For non-Australians, I’ll see if I can record that clip and upload it.

EDIT: The episode is now online for Australian residents. Click the link below and click ‘Rush’, then ‘Rush New Season Ep 2 (4/6)’. Fast-forward to 2:10 and you’ll hear Christian say the “Dash from Incredibles” line to the kids.

Watch Ten Online

Yea, but all I have to say is that I hope Glee will win all their Emmy nomanations
It’s about 17 or 19 nomanations :open_mouth:

thedriveintheatre: That’s a really nice reference! It’s awesome when Pixar movies appear in everyday life and other television shows!

Speaking of Australian television, is it true that Two and a Half Men is extremley popular there? My friend’s sister lived in Australia for a year, and said that most young people there were totally into that show, do you watch it?

Heck Yea!!!
T&AHM Is on like every weeknight at 7:00PM, and sometimes, we get two showings.
But, Emmy nomanated shows like Glee and Modern Family have a rough amount of viewers.

I’ve recently been watching Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman on the science channel. It is a very interesting show. In each episode, Freeman takes a look at one of science’s greatest mysteries, and through interviews with the leading minds in these areas, attempts to offer some answers to these unexplained question. If anything, the show provides hope that one day soon many of these mysteries will be solved.

Some questions they look at include: Are We Alone?, Is There A Creator?, and What Happened Before The Beggining?
