I don’t have cable anymore, and proud of it. I only use Netflix. Lately, I’ve been watching episodes of Rescue Me, and before that I finished up what they had on there of The Office, both US and UK versions, and I watched a lot of Arrested Development. ![]()
I just finished the first season of Sherlock. It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, I wish it wasn’t so short.
Besides that, I just started Arrested Development, FLCL, and Buffy.
I don’t have a TV, but I do watch plenty of old shows on DVD. Currently I’m in the process of watching every episode of Animaniacs. ![]()
Sherlock! Merlin! I think I’m going to squeal! I absolutly adore those shows and I can’t wait until they get recomissioned! ![]()
I’m gutted that they only have 3 episodes of Sherlock too, but thats British brevity for you I’m afraid. You might be pleased to know that there will be 3 new episodes next month though
.
Here are shows I watch on a regular basis-
*The Office
*American Pickers
*South Park
*How the States got their Shapes
*Everybody Loves Raymond
*30 Rock
*Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations
I am getting into Melssia and Joey. I loved Melssia Joan Hart on Sabrina the teenage witch.
Anybody been watching Torchwood: Miracle Day?
I used to be a huge 30 Rock fan, but it seems like the quality has really deteriorated in the last season or so. Less clever humor and more weird/crude/shock value.
Parks & Rec has totally filled the slot for me though. That show KILLS me. It’s kind of my go-to on Netflix when I need to fill some time ![]()
Curious to hear about other goodies. It seems like TV is not as good as it used to be or a show starts strong and goes downhill (a la 30 Rock or Chuck). I miss Seinfeld and Scrubs (which, IMHO, was one of the best shows there ever was).
Hah! I’ve seen one episode of that show, I liked it. I am going to watch it more often.
The characters are really fantastic. And as someone who grew up in the Midwest (though not in a small town) I can totally buy the whole thing. The bureaucracy, the small-minded, sometimes mob-like townspeople…
And I love Ron Swanson. Can I just say that? LOVE Ron Swanson.
I’m in the midwest two.
I’ve been watching a lot of American Dragon Jake Long lately. Three out of five days of my work week, I get off at 4:15 in the morning. I always try to get home at exactly 5 so that I can watch it on Disney XD. And if I get off at my regular time during the other two days, I stay up and watch it.
I’m finally about to finish watching the complete first season of The Walking Dead.
That’s interesting that your familiarity provides a great connection to the show. I like the Midwest, my father is from there.
Franklin and Bash looks god so far.
For those of you who don’t know, there’s a great new show on ABC Tuesdays called 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show. It’s amazing. If you’ve never seen it, this week’s episode is the season finale. Watch it at 8 EDT. Also, I recently decided to start watching The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. They are awesome.
I like both of those shows, especially The Colbert Report.
I sometimes watch that after South Park.
This week I recorded two episodes of a show called ‘Conquerors’ off of History International. One episode is about Fremont’s explorations of California, and British General Howe trying to end the American Revolution.
I have yet to watch them, but needless to say I’m interested as to what I’ll learn.
I’m sure it’s kind of a caricature of what it was when I lived there, but there are aspects that are so familiar. And I don’t mean it as a dig, at all, though I can see how it sounds like that
. I like the Midwest too, and I definitely miss the sweet parts of my childhood that were rather Midwestern.
I just finished the second season of Buffy. It’s getting really great, I’m hooked now. One of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time.
