Up Poster

Thanks for the heads up!

I LOVE the Russell poster. So cute and he really looks like he’s all in for an adventure! I like the Carl one too because the look on his face makes me laugh. Pixar really does a great job capturing their character’s facial expressions, huh?

The new ones are hilarious. I also love Carl’s expression. And Dug’s fur is awesome :open_mouth:

If somebody who doesn’t know about this film sees Carl’s poster I’m sure he/she will be “huh?” xDD

[spoil]The collar lets Dug talk.[/spoil]

Just to clarify, is it Dug or Doug? People on here seem to be using both, and I’d like to know.

Loving that massive poster there. So much detail! Is it me, or does Russell have a bottle of moisturiser, or perhaps sunscreen, sticking out of his backpack? Doug (or Dug, whichever) looks quite timid! The texture of his fur is amazing though, it has that real genuine waviness that real dog’s fur has. Thanks for the link, Bryko614!

The official name is Dug.

The dog is called Dug? Is this a joke or something?

It’s hard to choose which poster I like best. I’d have to say the Dug poster because of the detail such as the fur and the eyebrow expression that dogs do sometimes. I can’t wait to hear what his voice sounds like [spoil]with the translator collar around his neck.[/spoil]

Ahh. I see. How interesting. I think I did read about that some time ago, although I’d forgotten until now. It makes him (Dug) sound like some kind of an alien or something. Heh. That’s neat, though! Thanks for the information.

I know! I think I finally get why they named him that. (snigger)

I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for that Russell poster, as I want it so badly…

Heh. I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned this already or not, but I like how Carl has a hearing aid… and a wedding ring on his finger. Pixar doesn’t miss a trick…

Balloons that make houses fly and dogs with high-tech collars that let them talk… This movie just keeps getting weirder and weirder. :open_mouth:
I am super excited for Up, though. Can’t wait!

Wow, it’s impossible to create something more surrealistic than this plot   I love it.

That’s especially cool because [spoil]Carl is a widow. It’s a visual expression of how he is still dedicated to his wife even though she has passed away.[/spoil] :sunglasses:

Yah! I love myself some weird movies!

I love the new posters! Carl being his usual exasperated self hanging limply, Russell swinging into adventure… I would have liked Dug (couldn’t they give 'im a cooler name and one that sounded less like ‘Dog’?) to be suspended from a garden hose too (probably by biting it like in the earlier poster?). And where’s Kevin?

This movie reminds me of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (except it probably won’t suck as hard, and Russell is unlikely to be Carl’s kid!).

Very cool posters! I especially like the retro 1950s-travel-poster-looking one. Actually though, it reminds me of the retro WALL-E ones.

Thanks for the link and images, Wall_E21 and thiagofgui! I’m loving the new posters, especially that one of Carl holding up his walker.

I love the Russian posters! They’re so colourful and fun, and my favourite has to be the one with Carl holding up his walker, as Mitch said. The Russians always seem to get the best posters!

Thanks for the link, Wall-E21 and thiagofgui!

The US poster campaign for Up is a little underwhelming compare to past Pixar films IMO. Not counting the retro posters, there are just 3 character posters, a teaser and a theatrical one. Sure they can make some more, like the French poster, and better than the Russian ones (they feel cheap and tacky), right?

The read-aloud story book cover can become a good poster, the aerial fighting scene with the blimp can be another one, too. The theatrical poster with the main characters flying over (or looking at) Paradise Fall would be cool.

I have this one

Another Brand New Poster for Pixar’s Up!!!

I like it. Cute poster!
