I bought Sonic Generations for the 3DS last Friday, and I beat it on Monday. Pretty fun game, despite being a little short. Now I’m trying to unlock all the missions and everything.
It’s an yearly trade fair for the video game industry. Developers and publishers usually show off beta gameplay for upcoming games there. I’ve always wanted to go to one.
It’s the Madden of the first person shooter genre IMO.
Super Mario 3D Land Another great main Mario game. I had a lot of fun playing through the orginal eight worls and the eight special worlds. This is the first game I played the really made 3D an important feature when it comes to game play on the 3DS. My one complaint is that I wish the original eight worlds were a little more challenging.
Rayman Origins Before I get into why I love this game I wanna say something. The fact that this game only sold 44,000 copies the first month it was out during the holiday season makes me sad. I really hate how gaming has lost it’s innocence. It seems like the only colorful platformers that sells millions these days is Mario games. And a lot of that has to do with with fact that Mario is like The Beatles of the gaming world. Most games have to take place in a war torn country or have pimps and gangs in them in order to sell millions of copies these days. I find that sad. What does that say about our world today?
Now on to what I love about this game. It’s like playing a cartoon! I’m glad I decided to get it for the PS3 instead of the Wii. As soon as I turned it on my mouth feel open. Seeing it in HD is an amazing experience. This is the most beautiful game I’ve ever played. I am in constant awe at what I see while I play this game. It’s very unique looking. It has beautiful hand drawn graphics, awesome fantasty worlds, excellent controls and music that is so good there needs to be a sound track. Like all Rayman games I’ve played the levels are full of peril. I’ve died a lot, but I’ve never been mad at the game for it. I never felt like bad level design or bad controls were the reasons for me dying. It’s has to do with the games old school 2D level design. It’s like the old school platformers from the 16 bit era. You learn from your mistakes by playing the levels over and over again. But it also has modern day sensibilities with lots of checkpoints throughout the levels and infinite lives. I really miss the days when videogame shelves were full of games like this. You guys really should give this game a chance.
Rayman Origins is awesome. Perfect level of challenge and amazing presentation. It’s really a shame that it didn’t do well, because it’s better than most games that I played last year.
