Great job for Wall-e. THose are numbers to be proud of. Then again, do we expect anything less? it’s Pixar!
Got an estimated $1.2 mil over the weekend, a 15.2% boost from last week, and added back 370 theaters, probably for Labor Day weekend.
Total: $217.9 million
Goo Pixar! XD
Jibiti- This box office weekend’s not done until Monday, we’ll see how much more it made come Labor Day.
Just one very quick post on this holiday weekend.
Some new International figures are in for Wall-E.
Some very good numbers.
From an article dated Sept 1st 2008:
"Wall-E added $7.7m from 3,472 screens in 36 markets through Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture International to raise the running total to $175m. The film scored the biggest animated launch for a Disney/Pixar release in Singapore where it opened in top spot on $890,000 from 80 screens and also opened top in Norway and Denmark on $690,000 from 75 and $495,000 from 85, respectively.
Wall-E added $1.8m following a 20% drop in France to rank second in its fifth weekend for $23.2m and has amassed $42.1m in the UK after seven weeks, $13.8m in Spain after four and $7.9m in South Korea after four."

Thanks for the international numbers miafka.
The estimates for Labor Day weekend are here.
WALL-E now stands at: $218,343,000!
Latest international numbers for Wall-E: $184.5 million (outside North America).
From Screen Daily, Sept 8 2008:
“Wall-E grossed $6.2m through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International from 2,876 screens 30 markets pushed the tally to $184.5m.”
Can someone tell me what the worldwide grossings are for Kung Fu Panda and WALL-E?
I can estimate Panda’s overseas take at about $386 million (it passed $600 million worldwide this past weekend). It really has done well overseas.
WALL-E as far as I know stands at around $404 million (taking miafka’s latest overseas tally + $219 million domestic).
Does WALL-E still have a shot at $600 million?
Not unless it jumps over labor day weekend and gradually slows.
it would need probabely 50 mill over labor day to be in contention.
Thanks for the numbers E.S. Is this film going to be released in China? If so WALL-E still has a chance of reaching 600 million and even beating Kung Fu Pandas grossing’s.
600 million? Wow. Sounds like it would even beat “The Dark Knight.” Another devil-bounded movie! Hopefully there aren’t any prices to pay for this one…
WALL-E just barely passed the $220 million mark with an estimated $220,060,000 at the domestic box office this week! Go WALL-E!!
Latest international (outside of North America) numbers for Wall-E as of a couple days ago (Sept 14): 190.6mil. This is before the film has opened in countries such as Japan and Australia.
From Screen Daily (Sept 14):
Returning to the bigger titles, Wall-E added $4.3m from 3,085 screens in 39 territories to raise its tally to $190.6m. The animated adventure added $700,000 in its seventh weekend in France for $25m and stayed top in its second weekend in Sweden on $580,000 for $1.6m. Wall-E opens in Australia, New Zealand and Greece next weekend.

As long as it passes The Incredibles (260mill.) i’ll consider it a great success.
Can’t see why it won’t
WALL-E is now at: $220,503,606
Anyone want to make predictions for when and at what amount it’ll end it’s domestic run?
I’m not sure when (probably sometime in November) but I’m guessing it’ll end at $225 million!
Doesn’t it still have some other countries to come.
Yes there are a few more countries left to go, Al-Bob, but I was talking domestic numbers, if you want to guess worldwide totals, then be my guest.
Here are the latest international numbers, as of a few days ago (Sept 21st).
Internationally (everything except North America), Wall-E has now surpassed $200 million, thanks especially to a #1 launch in Australia & New Zealand. Remember the film has still yet to open in Japan – where it won’t open until December. And after 8 weeks, it’s still doing well in France.
From Screen Daily, Sept 21st.
Wall-E crossed $200m as it grossed a further $6.6m from 2,702 screens in 32 countries through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International to reach $200.1m. This was the tenth release to cross $200m overseas this year and owes much to a $3.1m number one launch in Australia on 2,805. It opened second in Greece on $510,000 from approximately 70 screens in what was the second biggest Pixar launch in the territory.
Wall-E launched at number one in New Zealand, where it took $415,000 from 70, and there was a decent hold in the eighth weekend in France where the film added $670,000 following a 34% drop for $26.3m.
well if the international scheme is close to 200 mill it should be easy to reach 400 mill. once North America is taken into the numbers.
