Yeah, I can certainly see the pattern there. It’s a shame, since I would look forward to seeing another (animated) DreamWorks film prior to their’ steady decrease in quality and/or a firm and stable plot-line. Nevertheless, it still remains as one of those companies whom I have future hopes in… since some of their past features were quite decent and entertaining. It’s a mirror of Disney Studios, in a way: They’re previous productions were so good that I feel as if I must continue to support them in some way or another, despite their current lack of dedication to story, as it were. (heh)
I have to say I totally agree, and I never even thought of that before!
I used to call myself a Disney fanatic, but what have they made ever since… Mulan? Stuff like Brother Bear, Chicken Little, and Meet the Robinsons still doesn’t feel “classic”. I guess Disney might be reborn now that Michael Eisner is gone and John Lasseter is overseeing things, right?
So, while it’s fun to love and claim to be a big Disney fan, I can say with complete confidence that I’m 100% behind whatever Pixar does. They have a perfect record!
FunnyGirl - Exactly! Since the end of the “Golden Era” of Disney, as it were, things seemed to have gone downhill, with the exception of such box office hits as Mulan and Lilo and Stitch. Meet the Robinsons wasn’t too bad either, what with its heart-warming finale, but, by all accounts, it could have been better.
But yeah, I definitely support both John Lasseter (and his crew at Disney Studios) and Pixar Animation Studios, as well. So far, things haven’t faltered on their side of the bridge, and I hope they never will.
Which is why I’m so glad was a kid back then! 90s children really got the creme de la creme of Disney movies.
Have you seen the pictures for The Princess and the Frog, btw? Most promising thing I’ve heard of in years from them! If you’re online we could chat – you seem to be the most frequent commenter here. Very intelligent forum!
