When Russell grows up, his job is

I’m liking some of the ideas of “globe-trotting” Russell, but I also think he would want to have a family, too, which would mean that “Mrs. Russell” probably would have to have the same/similar career so they could “globe-trot” together. Or else they start out as zookeeper and chocolatier, and end up as global eco-adventurers. (No, I am not writing this, just thinking about it.)

Pixar Builder wrote:

I do think that when Russell matures, he naturally “trims down” a bit, but is always on the “sturdy” side.

" Zoology Mr. Fredericksen!"

Totally agree with all of these! It’s very easy to see Russell sorta being involved with animals!

Even a Chocolatier even sounded like the most amazing idea ever, and the idea of meeting his future wife that way with him being the explorer and her giving him chocolate loving.

I always wondered if perhaps not grown up Russell, but as Russell is still growing up, he helps out with the local community a lot and even a social worker of some kind, he clearly likes people.

But I do think his heart leads to animals. Dog training maybe?

(a small mailman)… :sunglasses: You know it’s meant to be…

LOL, I like that idea.

In my opinion, I think he would be a social worker. Why?

You see, during the credits it’s clear that Russell get along with Carl very well, and perhaps he made lots of (elderly) friends. Plus, Russell’s family has torn-apart, maybe he wanted to help the community as he has experienced the problem.

A Pixar Animator.

I’d imagine him with a Steve Irwin like job, as a nature dude.

I repeat, small mailman.

He wasn’t ONLY a small mailman though, Incredigirl. He was a small mailman that sold ice cream and balloons as a side job.

Haha, you posted twice  I just think it would be great if he ended up as a really short mailman.

Heh, there was an error that told me that I couldn’t post for some reason. I guess it lied.

Sorry about that. Not on purpose.

It’s okay, I just thought it was funny that a techy like you has issues like that

As I think about this, I can’t help but recall Russell’s own words as he reflects on what he’s been through during his adventure with Mr. Fredrickson:

“You know what, Mr. Fredrickson? The wilderness isn’t exactly what I expected. It’s kinda wild…not how they made it sound in my book.”

Now that Russell has a different outlook and a first-hand-experience with the wild, I think that as he grows up, he’ll want to perhaps re-organize the Wilderness Explorer Club and teach the future Wilderness Explorers about the true nature of nature…that, and of course, earning his Zoology degree, thanks to that special friendship with Kevin…and with the pack of talking dogs at his side!

Aww! Russell would make a wonderful zoookeeper! That was actually the first job I ever wanted.

I imagine Russell doing the same job as Muntz,
but with a way less egomanical approach

I still think he’s a mailman. I can’t be convinced otherwise, though your guys’ ideas and explanations are way more…plausible?

LOL! You just made me picture Russell as Willy Wonka…

Yeah, definitely either an explorer or a zookeeper. I imagine Russell might grow up studying animal biology, so he could even help write school textbooks or something.

I can see him working at a wildlife rehabilitation centre.
He would be helping wild animals (like Kevin) get healthy.

Either that or he’ll run a vet clinic.
