I have so many obsessions…with movies, with music groups, with video games, with specific people, fictional or not…
I might make a list. Or, I’ll just end up incredibly embarrassed.

I might make a list. Or, I’ll just end up incredibly embarrassed.
Listing is fun, though! And addictive to me. <3 Besides, I’m sure your list is great.
Well, I’ll give it a shot then
Movies: All Pixar movies/Most all Disney movies, in particular Up, Tangled, the Toy Story series and other Disney Princess films; the three animated movies by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, Coraline); Back to the Future, Ghibli movies, How to Train Your Dragon…
Music: Oh good word. Queen, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, ELO, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Nico, T-Rex, The Velvet Underground, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Mott the Hoople, Syd Barrett…
People: Walt Disney, John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Hayao Miyazaki, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, all of The Beatles (XD), Freddie Mercury, Jim Morrison
Food: PIZZA.
Video games: The MOTHER series ( <3 ), Kirby, Mario, Legend of Zelda, Klonoa, and probably some more that I’m forgetting.
Oh my God, we have too much stuff in common. It’s weird! You’re like my internet sister or something. You didn’t list a single thing I don’t like! I also personally find disabilities very interesting. I’ve learned quite a bit about some pretty uncommon ones that aren’t very known about. It’s fascinating. I’m redoing mine! XDD
Major: Pixar, Disney, The Incredibles, Toy Story 2, Princesses, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, Gargoyles(the show, not the statues in real life)
Less major: Other Pixar movies, most Disney movies, pizza, seafood, textures, politics(I’m very obsessive on this, but I do try my hardest not to hurt anyone’s feelings.), the Earnhardts, Lady Gaga, Walt Disney, religion, the film industry, writing, animation, drawing, DreamWorks, How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, Prince of Egypt, and jokes. <3
Hehe!! Same here
In other news, it looks like I may get evaluated some time next week.
I’m very excited for you!! I need an update when it happens. You will tell us, right?
Yes I will.
Yays!!!
Eve’s obsessions: Pixar, WALL-E, John Lasseter, Doctor Who, The Shins, How To Train Your Dragon, Merlin, Buses, Tron, Starbucks Coffee, My fluffy green hoodie…think that’s it!
Now that is a fantastic list!!
I’m glad! Let us know how it turns out.
Beautiful lists, guys!! It’s wonderful getting to know each other through our obsessions and quirks.
Okay then
I think I may be obsessing a bit over Jimmy neutron again as I saw it yesterday
Obsessions? Don’t get me STARTED!
My DKC obsession lasted the longest - it began December last year I do believe, thanks to DKC Returns. Normally my fixations change in a few months…
in the past they were Mario, Bone, Conker, and Up. Bone and Conker kind of returned a few times after they disappeared.
but to me, DK is just… perfect! There’s nothing I feel like I need to be ashamed about liking it, for some reason, even while I did feel that way with my previous fandoms… I felt odd and unsure about certain things in my past fandoms. But DKC? I love simply everything about it!
Everything! Even the TV show… AND its songs!
…I’m tempted to buy a Captain Skurvy figure now. If I get him I’mma photograph him with Carl, Dug, and Russell just for you guys.
That’s great, Badger!
Like Leirin said, it’s awesome knowing each other’s obsessions!
Well I don’t have a condition like that but I do have a birthmark on my face(which sometimes changes colour too…it sometimes turns purple although it’s usually red). It has resulted in me being socially outcast by some people…so I do have some social issues I would say, I’m pretty sure I grew up a little ‘different’ as a result…although it’s nothing that’s been placed into me having an actual social condition. I don’t think it’s to that degree.
My arm did also get very badly broken as a child and then the doctor didn’t fix it properly and I needed a nerve transplant in which they took a nerve from my leg which wasn’t as necessary in my leg(just a little part of my lower leg/food is numb feeling now somewhat) and put it into my arm. My arm won’t ever be 100% the same although I’m not disabled by it…it just doesn’t go 100% straight and is slightly growth stunted(although I’m probably the only one who notices unless I point it out to people).
I have some huge scars as a result of the surgery.
Anyway, even though I haven’t been labelled as having a condition and simply have some social issues as a result of other reasons, I don’t think there is anything bad about being different…I don’t consider the word ‘weird’ to be an insult. People are just different and that’s fine. I know I do have some friends online who have conditions like what are mentioned in this topic.
EDIT:
I notice people here talking about fixations…I do fixate pretty hard on certain things for periods of time sometimes, although I’ve never been labelled as having the conditions you guys have. I don’t think I do, personally, but I certainly go into fandoms pretty deeply at times. I just don’t seem to have any other symptoms that are listed(especially the lack of empathy one because I’m a very empathetic person), so I’m pretty sure I don’t have the condition. I just have some other social issues as a result of the way I grew up. It’s easier for me to be open with people online…in person it takes a long time for me to get really close to others. The most social thing I do in a year around tons of people is go to a few conventions but I admit that although it’s nice and cosplaying is fun, it does seriously stress me out, sometimes to the point of physically throwing up. It’s very overwhelming for me and I’m not sure if that’s normal.
That’s very interesting Minty Fresh. Personally, I don’t find being “weird” directly bad either. It’s just harder to connect to people, and I often inflect the wrong tone, and people mistake my meaning, etc. ESPECIALLY around here.
Oh, I know! Sometimes I have to spend a lot of time deciding how to word something online.
Some people are making fun of me on a video I made. This is what I think.
“Oh wow, some people I don’t know hate my video and are tryting to make themselves look funny and have some pride when there really a stupid coward. I feel so sad now…not.”
Yeah best to just ignore those people. I used to react more to online haters but learned to ignore it better over the years. They will move on if you ignore them and find someone else to harass because if you don’t respond to their comments there is no way for them to know that you even read what they said.
People who do stuff like that aren’t worth the time and effort and fact is there will always be someone in the world who’s going to insult you. Pretty much everyone has haters, even people who are really popular and seem well loved by a lot of people…there are still some who will say nasty things to them.
