If you love animation, go see “Song of the Sea”, a new Irish (and Luxembourg/Belgian/Danish) production. Beautiful 2D animation, wonderful story and score, it’s one of the best animated films I’ve seen in a long time. Here in the US, it’s only playing in a few select cities, though hopefully it will get a wider distribution in the coming months. If it comes to your area, go see it – it’s worth seeing on the big screen. If it’s not playing close by, it’s worth a trip to see it. It currently has a 97% critic score on RottenTomatoes.
It’s up for the Best Animated Picture Oscar, and though Princess Kaguya was very well done as well, Song of the Sea deserves to win.
