Actually, Bridges passed away in 1998.

RIP John Barry 1933-2011
by aerostarmonk » Mon Jan 31, 2011 3:58 pm
Billboard Magazine wrote:Composer John Barry, who won five Oscars for his film work but was best known for his contributions to a dozen James Bond movies, has died. He was 77.
Barry died in New York on Sunday, his family said.
The English-born composer won two Oscars, for the score and the song, for Born Free in 1966, and he earned single statuettes for The Lion in Winter (1968), Out of Africa (1985) and Dances with Wolves (1990).
He was also nominated for his scores for Mary, Queen of Scots in 1971 and Chaplin in 1992.
Barry was one of the greats. Anyone who knows their Pixar trivia is aware of the fact that he was the original choice for composer for The Incredibles and that the Giacchino's actual score to the film was an excellent tribute to his work on the Bond films. Even the main theme is an homage to his theme for On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Something that was fully acknowledged by it use in one of the first trailers for the film.
He will be missed.
I usually don't get choked up about celebrity deaths, but this one...

Osama Bin Laden is dead.
by thedriveintheatre » Mon May 02, 2011 4:18 am
So while we await the pictures and the inevitable 'Mr Osama, this is your life' television specials, what do you guys think of this momentous occasion?
Personally I can't believe that after more than a decade, he has finally been stopped. I wonder whether SEAL Team Six (aka Tier 1, the unit responsible for the operation) did a preemptive strike, or did they kill him in self-defense? Anyway, it is possible that he did put up a fight and made it difficult for the troop to extract him. I would have much liked them to capture him alive and haul him before a War Tribunal, but knowing how an important figure he is to Al Qaeda, maybe it would've been easier with this outcome than risk further attacks by his supporters in the process of escorting him.
No doubt President Obama will gain massive kudos points, and perhaps George Bush too, though the real credit should go to the ordinary men and women of the American military and special forces on the frontlines.
I really can't believe it's finally Mission Accomplished. While it isn't the end of terrorism (there are other groups around the world, some even non-religious), this is definitely a huge blow to Al Qaeda. We should take heed of the POTUS' advice to remain ever vigilant, and I'm not surprised if there will be a retaliatory attack in the coming days. We must also remember that we are not against Islam or any other religion for that matter. We are against extremist nutjobs who misinterpret and twist the meaning of religion in the name of perpetrating senseless violence against innocent civilians and non-combatants.
Let us remember that we are united against terrorists and terrorism, and that we are all in this together.
