Possibly true, back then they didn't classify that disorder and its not definite based on what we know now, but many think he did. The prodigy phenomenon has been linked to autism and Asperger's in some cases and he did suffer from random outbursts and obsessive behavior which could either be Tourette's or a form of autism. Lol Sorry, long answer :P

Initially in Star Trek TOS the ship's first officer was going to be female, but the studio rejected that idea because they thought it was "unrealistic" to have a female in a command position.

Actually it was true, they were the original characters to be "shipped" by fans. In this regard I dislike Star Trek nerds of that era because they started the infernal shipping and slash trend.

That's a horrible story, but I hadn't the slightest idea you were talking about that in your question 8D Anyway, don't generalize, I'm sure fans of that era weren't generally like that, and those were the tiniest minority.
