Pixar film's take place in the same continuity

Postby nimarisia » Thu Oct 10, 2013 10:02 am

Do all the Pixar film's take place in the same continuity? I ask this, because I found out that Boo from Monsters Inc has a cameo in Toy Story 3, so I'm wondering, do they all take place in the same continuity, meaning do the characters from Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, etc exist in the other Pixar film's? Thanks!

I'm fairly certain Boo as a cameo as a little girl in Toy Story 3 was debunked as not being true according to the filmmakers, but you can believe it's her as you want!

I've discussed in another topic before why I think it's possible the movies could all be linked, but that belongs in the Pixar Feature Films section. :D

This is a frequent debate. With all the references and in-jokes the films all have to each other, it's likely. The Pizza Planet truck is the most obvious example. Some films however have different styles of character designs. Pixar flicks like Up, Brave and Brad Bird's films spout more caricatured and cartoonish human appearances, whereas they're more realistic in Toy Story and Monsters Inc.

There's a thesis out there written by someone to prove such a theory true. Of course, given that it was only a theory with no evidence other than circumstantial ones, it was inevitable to be proven false by other theories out there that I lack the interest to search for right now...

But yeah, there are too many inconsistencies for this to be true. So no.

There are already other threads for this. Plus I'm certain the person who started this thread is a spammer (given their post amount and the links in their sigs)
