For several years only the reframed 4:3 version of Monsters, Inc. was available on DVD in Germany - the widescreen version went back into the vault faster than you can say “Boo”.
Fortunately with the recent 3D-pop-up-box update Disney has finally dumped the anachronistic 4:3 version and re-released the widescreen version.
The Germans are always behind when it comes to keeping up to technology, just kidding. lLooks like a good thing for the Germans. They will be able to enjoy their Pixar films a bit more.
