What was it like when you first started on Pixar Planet?

For me, I didn’t really know what Pixar Planet was, I just found it and I suddenly became a member. After about a month, I had got a private message from K9Girl and she said hi and welcome to pixar planet and we started sending e-mails to each other. Then I started to understand it more and I noticed these posts and I was shy and didn’t really make any posts. Then months later, I got an e-mail from A113 saying that I should make some posts and I thought, WHY NOT? so then I think my first post was the one about book-movie adoptions or something like that. :sunglasses:

Well, I have been with PV, Dash and the crew for a long time, In fact, since they first started I-Kronos, a fan forum for the Incredibles. After Luxoforums, they started Pixar planet. I wanted to show that I will stay forever loyal to the greastes fans of Pixar and the greatest fan forum of Pixar ever.

I’m not sure wheter to lock this or not, because it sounds similar to “Unearthing Pixar Planet”. BUt that one is more like how did you find it rather than what was it like on your first day.

I found Pixar Planet when I was bored and began searching the net for Pixar stuff. Most of the time, the search results included Pixar Planet. Then, I kept on exploring the forum, and it looked interesting. I considered becoming a member because I am a Pixar geek I would fit right in. Also, I like it because of the no-personal-attacks rule and the no cussing. Those two things always made me feel uncomfortable online.
From the start of becoming a member, I posted quite often. I guess I was really excited to be on P.P.

I remember it like it was yesterday… instead of a few days ago. haha I stumbled upon Pixar Planet a few months ago while looking for things on Pixar. I finally decided to join the forums and it seems like a great place! A friendly bunch around here! Definitely plan on sticking around here! That’s saying something since it’s been a good 4-5 years since I’ve found a forum I liked to hang out at!

I was here waaay before i registered an account, but ever since i joined you guys i said to myself that I was missing lots of great things, i wasn’t thinking that their would be people awesome like this !
I also plan to stay here as long as possible…
It’ll be really weird losing you guys, you’re like a second family. <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/love2.gif” alt=“:loves:” title="In

Apparently I was the 44th member of the boards, which makes it seem as though I’ve been here for a very long time. But I honestly can’t remember what it was like, since I really don’t feel as if I’ve been on the boards for that long. Yet at the same time, I can’t really imagine what it’d be like not to be around on the boards. A life without Pixar Planet is just wrong!

At first, after I found PP with Google, I looked around. I thought “Hey, that’s nice and I really like Pixar”. So I joined. I didn’t spend much time there because I didn’t plan to sit at the computer for too long. But I knew it was a good idea to join since everyone here is so nice. I might not post often but I enjoy every minute on PP

WON: Despite that you don’t visit PP as much as most members, you are still one of the most loyal members ever.

When i first started i jumped right into posting…i actually found the introduction thread a couple weeks after i started posting. I did ask for a user in April but didn’t start posting till July…

Well my story of how I came across the place is in the Unearthing Pixar Planet thread, but I do remember when I first found this place how excited I was to find it. Until then, my Beatles forum was the only one I was really active in, and it was so great so find a forum that dealt with one of the other great loves of my life. I immediately saw that it was well organized and very active, which I like. I got so excited because I saw so many threads I wanted to respond to, and it was great to mention names like John, Joe, Andrew, etc, and know that everyone would know exactly who I was talking about. Then when I got that welcoming email that basically quoted initial speech made by Mirage to Mr Incredible I was like 'wow! this is totally wicked!" :stuck_out_tongue:

this.

I found this site just after Cars came out, and I was the one who encouraged JesusFreak to sign up. For a while, I posted avvies and siggys I’d make through him, for various reasons. Anyways, after being on the outside looking in for far too long, I finally became a member. It was weird, I felt right at home from my very first post. Everyone treated me like an old friend; it was really great. And I was really happy when some sent me a “welcome” PM… happy fuzzies inside!

I love all of my new (and old) friends here. This is definitely the place to go if you want to meet and converse with other avid Pixar fans.

I remember when I first started here.
September- I looked for Wall-E online, where I found Upcoming Pixar, then I found Pixar Planet Forums.
September 28- I joined the Forums.
October 11- I posted for the first time in the You Have Wall-E Fever When… thread and I was super nervous. Now I love this place. Everyone is so nice. :stuck_out_tongue:

little_chef_eva09, I totally remember sending you a welcome PM!

To be honest, it was like… walking into Pixar Animation Studios. The rules on courtesy were strict, but the administrators, moderators, and members themselves were extremely friendly. Almost immediately after I posted some comments on a Ratatouille-related thread of some sort, I was greeted by JV and Phoenician. Ever since then, I’ve loved the place. It’s grown faster than I could have imagined, but most of the original members have stayed loyal to the place, so whenever I visit the forums I always feel as if I’m frequenting my second home…

This is the best website ever, man, and everyone 'oughta know it.

Cool story Mitch. This forum/website is truely the best in the world. Everyone should know about it.

The Star Swordsman - Thanks, dude! And, yep, all of the folks out there who don’t know about this place are missing out on some great stuff.

It really wasn’t that much different than it is today.

Well, I can’t exactly remember for sure (I spend too much time online - a couple years ago is an eternity on the Internet), but I believe the much-loved user known as Mitch was responsible for bringing yours truly to Pixar Planet. She once ran a blog known as The Tailed Reporter that covered all things Ratatouille. I stumbled upon said website and somehow or another ended up on PP.

As for what it was like: it was pretty much same old PP. A little smaller perhaps, and people posted a lot more than they do today. But the only main difference was the total physch-out everyone was having over Ratatouille; currrently it’s Up.

Gasduude - Ha! You remember that old blog? That’s funny. I didn’t know that you found Pixar Planet via “The Tailed Reporter” – I thought you discovered it by way of Upcoming Pixar. Heh. Well, I’m glad I was able to help lead you here!

I’m much-loved…? blushes

– Mitch

You know what…? I still have that note in my inbox. I remember how happy I felt when I received that, and I never wanted to delete it. It’s funny now, because I never actually thought that I would actually become friends with “that person who sent me a nice PM”. Now we’re totally friends, and it’s awesome.

I like how the atmosphere here isn’t weird and kind of “sketchy”, if you will… whenever I’m on other boards looking at stuff, I always get nervous with the idea that I never know what might come up. But here, you know that most everything is going to be clean and you’re not going to stumble upon a weird ad or a string of cuss words or something.
