Ha-ha! That's adorable! The shading really paid off - it's very detailed. I love the stance of the hula rat, as well.

To say that I have been busy drawing over these past couple of months is an understatement.... :P

Gabor - Remember that little rat I drew in my "Year of the Rat" composition? Well, it turns out that I have become quite fond of the little guy; so fond, in fact, that I asked my sister to think up a suitable name for him, as she has a knack for blurting out catchy cognomens for cartoon characters. (Say that five times fast.) The second name that she thought up was Gabor, and I think that it fits him to a tee. I really do love this little guy, which is good, as artists should probably like what they draw. Heheh.

Oh, and thanks goes to Brad Bird for signing that first Gabor drawing of mine! I appreciate it beyond appreciation. ;)

Marie - I was simply training my hand to draw Marie from Disney's The Aristocats, as I'd always had a rather hard time drawing her for some reason.

Larry the Cucumber - Yeah, well, I was on a "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" high last month, sooo.... I mean, I love Larry anyway, but it got kind of out of hand there for a while. (snigger)

In the meantime, I desire to learn more about the Photoshop CS2 program, though the thing itself has been giving me some trouble. However, I won't worry about that too much now. For the time being, I'm mainly focusing on drawing traditional art and drawing it well.

Those Gabor sketches are some of your best rat works so far, Mitch! You're really making it look like more of a natural, flowing style, and I love how his tail is a simple line. That really works well. There's a lot more movement in all of these pieces- I guess you've been practising a lot over these past few months! :D

lizardgirl - Thank you very much! My mom helped me with the second Gabor sketch and my dad assisted me in drawing a couple of those facial expressions, as I still have a rather tough time of it driving around the anatomy barriers. I simply watched them draw out those afore-mentioned sketches first before copying them as directly as possible.

I'm glad that you like Gabor's tail, by the way, because my sister hates it. :P

Actually, these are pretty decent. The hand is considered by Disney (among other artists) to be one of the toughest object to be drawn, considering that each digit are to be made slender and realistic, so I won't criticize on Gabor's fingers in the fifth drawing with the apple (which require some smoothening as it looks like it's rotten... no offense intended, Mitch! ).

I like the details you include in Gabor's fur, as the creators of Monster Inc have claimed, "the hair is one of the toughest objects to animate," much more to draw. Good work, Mitch. ;)

PS: I love the Pirate, very nicely drawn.

WBoon - I'm trying to register whether or not "pretty decent" is a compliment or a criticism. Oh well. I'll take it as the former. Thank you, dude! I appreciate your comments. ;)

No offense taken. Believe you me, I like critique. I savor it. The more criticism I obtain the better.

The Star Swordsman - Thank you!

Popcorn Sweet Popcorn:

Image

-----------------

I hate Valentine's Day, so much so that I didn't even care how the coloring turned out in the composition above....

In any case, Gabor le rat loves his popcorn. I probably shouldn't have made the heart around the popcorn itself so petite, come to think of it, as it makes it look as if Gabor has wings or something of the sort. Ah well. All is fair with hearts and popcorn... or is it?

Oh, and good luck trying to figure out the anatomy of Gabor's hands/paws in this piece. It just goes to show that I really did not care about how this particular drawing turned out, which is rare. (Valentine's Day sucks like yesterday's roasted pizza cooked on half-melted banana cream sandwiches man.)

Enjoy your candy, folks. :P

Edit: Here is another recent drawing I did of a wolf in action:

Both pictures you drew are really nice MItch. I really like the wolf one, considering it is one of my favorite animals.

Gabor looks so sweet. I love the heart on his chest. =3

The only critique I have of the wolf, is that his neck should be a bit longer. But I'm not an artist so don't take my opinion too seriously. But other than that it looks great.

rachel - Thank you very much, rachel! ;)

Ha-ha. Yeah, I've gotten alot of critique on that wolf so far -- on the legs, the head, the ears.... (snigger) It's the first time I've ever drawn that particular animal, though, so I welcome critique.

Thanks again, dude!
