A mockup I made, using Audacity:

I lowered the pitch by some… 42%, I think.

The question is: is this Alpha’s real voice?

EDIT: OOPS, one part is sloppy. It’s still cool though!

Yup, that sounds like Bob Peterson. It shows how good of a voice actor he is that Dug and Alpha still sound very different.

Although, [spoil]when Muntz fixes his collar it becomes deeper than that.[/spoil]

Whoa that’s pretty cool! [spoil]In the film, Alpha’s voice is initially a squeaky voice since his collar is broken, but then Muntz fixes it. It definitely sounds like Bob Peterson.[/spoil]

Agreed, sounds like Bob.

SQUIRREL

You would be surprised…I got to see a pre-screening of Up and Alpha’s voice [spoil]was a lot deeper than that[/spoil]

In the Meet the Pack promo we hear his real voice at the end. It’s way lower than that.

Alpha’s real voice is the one that goes “Woof woof”

[spoil]I wonder (or rather I’m sure it is) if the use of the two difference voices for Alpha is commentary on how much of an effect the wrong voice in an animated movie can ruin it. He doesn’t seem at all threatening with his absurd voice (really reminds me of Kronk from Emperors new Groove) but his deep voice makes him so menacing.[/spoil]
