First off I don’t know if anyone has noticed this but here I go anyway…
I was rewatching one of my favorite movies today to get myself int he Pixar mood for Up and I noticed a surprisingly similar character! From the movie Up, Dug, the dog appears to make a special appearance in Ratatoulle!
In the scene in which Remmy is climbing out of the sewers and running through the walls of the houses, he runs into a barking dog and quickly scampers into a nearby hole in the wall. The shadow of the dog on the wall is the exact image of Dug from Up!
Whether this is a coincidence (unlikely) or on purpose I have no idea but still it’s strange.
