Golden Globes (and Boston Film Critics)

Anybody remember Boston Film Critics? They tied WALL-E and Slumdog for best picture last year. Sadly, Up did not quite reach the BP glory, but walked away with best animated feature. ^^ Winners list here: thebsfc.org/CurrWin.html

But anyways, Golden Globe nominations are here! goldenglobes.org/nominations/

Up is in the running for the following categories:

Best Animated Feature Film
-Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs
-Coraline
-Fantastic Mr. Fox
-The Princess And The Frog
-Up

Best Original Score - Motion Picture
-Up
-The Informant!
-Avatar
-A Single Man
-Where the Wild Things are.

In general… man, this year is totally crazy. What the heck did Avatar do to be racking up so many noms?! It’s Sci-Fi and 90% animated! That’s like, award show suicide in a nutshell. o.o;

Hey, at least MG got his nomination! It looks like the Globes have only one screenplay category (as opposed to the Oscars, who separate Original and Adapted Screenplay).

And good for the Boston critics.

Yay for Up and Michael Giacchino! Two very nice nominations there. As for Avatar, well, there does seem to be a lot of hype around it, though you’re right Netbug009, it’s not usually the sort of thing that would win multiple awards at these kinds of ceremonies. It’s no bad thing, though- I’m pleased to see something sci-fi based get a lot of recognition!

Well bravo for that! Hope it wins at least one of those categories.

Up deserves best score! But I think Princess and the Frog should get best animated film
