Another DA trade, this time with UrvyBalboa, using his characters, Jessie Jetter and Casey Quickster, along with Violet and Atomic Betty.
So, anyway, he requested Violet with the other head girls from him "Alliance of Super Girls," and that Violet be looking back at an old picture of herself, to sort of show her progression as a character. This was a challenge, as I was doing characters that (1.) I'm not used to doing, (2.) don't follow intently. But it was excellent practice. I tried a style of lining that I've used a few times before, but have never done with pencil fill-in that I can recall. I think it turned out pretty good, though I think I made Jessie look like a mannequin. Sorry Vi's back is turned to us, but I couldn't think of a better way to do it. I also think this leaves a bit of mystery, as she has grown up a bit (from thirteen in the photo to sixteen here), and she probably looks a little different. Also, I used an old drawing I did of her from a book that featured them, cut in in Photo Explosion, and pasted it into this picture, as the photo Vi's looking at.
Thanks so much for doing this trade, Urvy! Hope you like it!

The second one has a great quality to it that I can't really put my finger on, but great job on that one too.

Second, TSS, here you go. I'll give you your fix

Okay these were both trades, so I'm not responcible for the content

Looooooooooooong over-due trade with Aeros37 on DA.
Anyway, aeros requested Kari either being adopted into the Parr famly or gaining powers and fighting with them. I went the power road. This is Kari telling Violet about her new-found powers. Violet, while well engaged, is less than convinced. "Hows about you stop telling me about these awesome powers, and show them to me?!" ? What are these powers?... That's for aeros37 to decide

I did my darndest to come up with a good consept, but I know it ain't the greatest.

This was a trade with Grox9909. He asked for it a while back, so I got this up pretty fast. It also got up on DA unusually fast because this was so much freaking fun! I love drawing odd looking creatures! They're so interesting. And I'd wanted to draw a mutated Violet for a while. So this was kind of a push to do it.
I added wolf ears and spines. Here's his original idea: http://grox9909.deviantart.com/art/Mool ... -284397788

This is another picture of Violet's dog, Kobalt

Hope you all like

This are different clothing designs I did for Violet useing the same template as I did for the Argon Suit. The first picture is of her work cloths (in my fanfics, she grows up to be a Psychiatrist). The second are her regular/nice cloths. And the third are her oober-casual/sleeping cloths

Yeah, I basically felt like a piece of you-know-what when I did this. I disappointed someone. It's okay now. But I felt bad. I needed to apologize, so this is how I did it...

DA trade for UltraViolet14

And, in case you're wondering how I made this... first off, I did the sketch on regular white paper. Scanned it. Then inverted the colors. After that, I selected the sections, and added color filters. Then I painted over Violet partially with a blended black brush to make it look like she's half-invisible. I painted in the blue coming from Wakanda's powers with the brush on full blend, and varying low degrees of transparency. Lastly, I added some glow around the blue to really make it look like Way was using her powers

Actually, it wasn't as hard as it sounds

This is a concept for Violet having anorexia. This was a follow up to this picture I posted previously. I had such an enormous (for me) reaction to this on DA, I needed to post this one. I also wrote this poem to it, which I will probably be posting shortly. This picture was made to look more realistic, with the anatomy. And the reaction I've had to the first one on DA gave me the drive to write a free verse poem I've been wanting to write for a while.
Anorexia is a tragic disease. But it goes much deeper than most people know. Most of the time, it actually goes back to not being allowed control in life. So the person grasps onto the only thing they feel they can control: their weight. People who suffer from anorexia feel overweight, even if they are severely underweight. I've seen that they are usually aware of their disorder, unlike a drug addicted person. And they might not even like being skinny. Loosing weight and starving themselves is just a compulsion. And just because someone has anorexia, doesn't mean they hate food. It just means they are afraid of gaining weight. They're afraid of losing love. OCD like behaviors also often accompany anorexia, but they're usually food centered. And it's not something you're ever truly cured of. But it can get better. Like a drug addiction, it must be taken one day at a time. And, if an honest effort is made, it WILL get better.
People with anorexia are not freaks! They have a disease, just like diabetes, alcoholism, asthma, or cerebral palsy. They didn't ask for it.
For those suffering from it, please, don't give up. There are people out there who care. You do have a purpose, a reason to be here. There is something you were made for that only you can do. Don't be afraid to ask for help; it's not shameful, and you can't do it alone. Please, you are worth so much more than you know. YOU ARE LOVED BY SOMEONE!!! I love you. Don't let yourself go to wast; you are a gift! And (please don't let this turn you off if you don't believe in God), but God does love you, too.
The reason for the title is part of this disease. Anorexia is often a way for someone to gain control, in a life where they feel they have none. They can control when and how much they eat, no one else. That's most often the underlying cause of this tragic disorder.
This poem and picture belong to me. Don't steal!
Violet Parr from The Incredibles belongs to Brad Bird and Disney/Pixar.
Hope you enjoy.

And thank you. I really wanted to tug on heart strings with the anorexia poem. I want to show people that it is a real issue, not taken seriously enough. Most people wright it off with "Why doen't you just eat?!" But it goes so much deeper than that. I did post it, here: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=9784&start=0 I'd love to hear you're thoughts. And thank you so much again!
