WALL-E Ad Watch!

So, it’s official, WALL-E has hit the mass marketing course that all films go through. Go, maybe we could talk about advertisements we see on this thread? Maybe we’ll even get some pictures? Anything from internet ads to billboards to whatever is targeted beyond our little fandom alcove.

I just saw a new wall e commerical about 25 mins ago. I forget what program it was airing on because I was in the other room when I heard it. Oh, well, I’ll probily be online soon.

Oooh, I like this thread. :sunglasses: Here are a few ads I found on flickr. I didn’t realise the extent of the marketing until I saw these photos. I’m going to post the pictures here, then link to the flickr pages, hope this is ok…

O.O DUDE! SOME OF THOSE ARE HUGE! WALL-E the size of a skyscraper. Geez. Wasn’t expecting anything that fabulous. Nice finds!

=0 Wow. Those are some pretty spiffy advertisements! I live near Hollywood, so sometime I’m going to have to go see that gigantic skyscraper poster.

I especially love that one with the train. <3

I live in Hollywood, and its nice to drive each day and see WALL-E wherever I go! Billboards everywhere!

That skyscraper one, for those of you that are in the area, is by Sunset Plaza on (of course) the Sunset Strip. you have to be driving east to see it. its adorable!!!

Wow rachel, those are really cool pictures! WALLE is really spreading fast ain’t it?

How do they get a poster that size up there anyway?

WALL-E. HE’S EVERYWHERE.

Those are such amazing photos, Rachel. :open_mouth:

I haven’t seen any advertisements or even hints that WALL-E is coming out relatively soon. The only time I’ve seen anything of it in the cinema is in an ad all about Summer 2008 movies, and there’s just a tiny clip of WALL-E leaning forward to look at his cockroach friend. Aside from that, (and a brief mention on the radio about how it’s a ‘must-see film of the year’) there just hasn’t been much around here. But it certainly looks like America is getting ready for the big event!

Thanks, guys. Glad you like the photos I found. I’ll try and find some more. The inflatable WALL•E is probably my fav out of all the promotional displays, but so is the tram with WALL•E hanging on the side since it’s such an eye-catcher.

lizardgirl - Well, there is only a month to go before the UK gets it, so hopefully the marketing over there will kick in soon. There hasn’t been that much promotion here in Australia either, which is understandable since it doesn’t come out here till September… We used to have the big 3D cardboard display of WALL•E at certain larger cinema chains, but for reason they took it away at the cinema near me - maybe too many people touching it, I don’t know, he he. I’m sure they’ll bring it back. I hope we get the WALL•E and EVE chair too - I so want to get a photo with it!

rachel- I generally find Pixar movie advertising over here poor. Some of my friends were completely unaware of Ratatouille until I told them that they were coming along to see it with me, and most of them still haven’t heard anything about WALL-E (aside from me blabbering about it, of course).

Or they might just be very unculturally aware friends. Though they do seem to know about other films being released soon!

That chair thing sounds awesome. Seriously.

A few days ago I saw the inflatable WALL-E at Downtown Disney, he’s huge!!!
Also the Magic of Disney Animation and it’s sorroundings in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is all WALL-E!! There’s even storyboards and that one piece of concept art from Up.

Aww. We have this at our local theater, but someone took Wall-E the first time I saw it. Someone else took Eve not long after. :stuck_out_tongue:

heehee. that pic was an ad on the front page of the LA times yesterday, scrolled along the bottom. i cut it out. so cute!

Awesome pictures! I’ll be on the lookout for billboards and stuff when I’m in the city, to add to this.

For now, mind if I post a picture of my brother? xD

He didn’t break it, seriously. If you don’t get there within a few days of the display being there, people like to rip pieces off. Luckily they didn’t take his arm, lol! That’d be a strange consolation prize. xD

I love your brother’s expression, FONY. He’s doing the same thing as WALL•E. I really hope we end up getting those seats.

Ha ha ha, really funny picture FONY. I like his pose.

Lol, thanks - he’s the only one in my family who absolutely loves the camera. xD And that’s good, 'cause most of my family (including me) hide from the camera.

I hope most of it’s still left when I go again, but I doubt it. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was in LA today and I rode the Red Line (like a mini subway thing) and there were advertisements in the tunnels for Wall-E. It was crazy though, because they were animated as we rushed past them! They were the sequences from the normal commercials though, like the ping-pong one and others.
