Hotel Transylvania sounds alright.
looks kinda good, I’m sure they’ll be decent ![]()
I think The Smurfs should be left well alone, not made into a movie version. The classic-ness and rubbish-ness of the original was what made it so great, and I can’t see the people who watched the TV series being that keen on the movie either.
I agree. They already sort of ruined Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. I’ll see all of these because I’m a fan of Sony Animation but I wish they could make something as good as Surf’s Up again. ![]()
I agree with TAMATER. As much as the Happy Feet-haters complain about another 'guin movie, Surf’s Up was Sony’s best effort yet, and actually stood out on its own for their documentary-style aesthetics and neat wave effects. I’d wax more about it in another thread… ![]()
Hearing Smurf will be a combo of live-action and animation sounds too much like Alvin and the Chipmunks for me, so I’m hoping they don’t mess this up. ![]()
Hotel Transylvania looks okay to me. Like the Tim Burton goth-look.
i am enraged that they are doing cgi for smurfs . i probably wont see it because it wont be 2d animation
Ill give them a shot, im sure they will be good! I love and own bot h Surfs Up, and Open Season. Cloudy looks awesome, so im sure they will be good films!
Well, there’s a Movie Poster apparently.
Dear god. Usually I’m a sucker for catchy slogans, but for some reason this poster makes me want to dry hurl. Maybe it’s the freaky-looking Smurf standing like a deer in headlights or something. Couldn’t they make it look less ‘3-D’ and come up with a more interesting pose? ![]()
That’s worse than last year’s Ice Age 3 poster. In fact that’s the worst poster I’ve ever seen. ![]()
I was just about to say the same thing. ![]()
I loved Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, but I’m not really sure what to think of these two films. If I had to go with which one sounds more interesting, I guess I’d have to go with the hotel one.
To be honest, I thought they had stolen a Clay Smurf from Robot Chicken and made a movie about it.
Just what it made me think of.
There hasn’t been a lot of info available on Hotel Transylvania. The IMDb entry is incomplete–Who’s in the cast? Is Jill Culton still directing? But this recent article sheds a little more light and indicates that Culton is still attached to the film, with Mark Mothersbaugh doing the music:

Mothersbaugh is a fine choice, given all the film and TV he’s worked on, notably Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
