Well today is 7/7/07. Some say this is the luckyist day of the centry. Others say it has to do with faith. What is your point of view on this guys and gals?
Oh wow. Heh – I almost forgot about that factor. Well, I guess we’ll…see what happens, eh? ![]()
Ya 7 is a significant number for me cause my grandma, (dad’s mom) has 7 children. My parents got married in 1970 then wait 7 years after being married to have me, I was born in 1977, then 7 years later they had my brother. So we are 7 years apart.
Luckiest day,eh?I’ll tell you when I find $5,000 on the ground. ![]()
Heh, I remember this. It’ll happen every year 'till 12/12/12. Pretty cool. ![]()
A lot of people have booked wedding for today for that very reason.
It’s actually tempting. I would, if I was getting married that is… ![]()
Happy lucky jackpot day everyone!
Wow, today must be one happy day for weddings.
Did you guys know that today they’re going to be declared the New Seven Wonders of the World?
The ceremony is going to take place at my favorite football team’s stadium!
![]()
Oh, it is a “soccor” stadium instead of American football stadium.
Well, that is so cool! On a day of sevens, we annouce seven wonders of the world! Thanks Maggie.
Oh yeah, I should have written “soccer”, but, to be honest, I don’t really like that word, you know? ![]()
Another thing I’ve noticed is that the day 7/7/07 is on the 7th day of the week! ![]()
Well, now today’s 8/7/07 here in NZ. And nothing happened to me yesterday. So…
Well yesterday was my first day on the job at my new workplace, but I wouldn’t say anything lucky or special happened. I totally forgot yesterday was the 7th.
Maggie - Cool! I wonder what they’ll be? ![]()
Thanks for the info!
Many consider 7 a mystical and lucky number. Why? Who knows…but there must be a reason. I think Alchemists think of it as a fundamental in their actvities.
Anyway. Doesn’t really matter with “luck”. It’s as much a Reverse Virus as Inspiration and SM.
I’d place a bet that some poor people are going into casinos because they think 7/7/07 will help them ![]()
It was Live Earth yesterday (07/07/07), but other than that nothing much happened. Last year (06/06/06) I was really freaked out about what might happen on that day.
this month we will also get 20/07/2007
of course this only applies to those who have their date format as dd/mm/yyyy
The mm/dd/yy format is used in:
* Canada (Although most official documents use the yyyy-mm-dd format, the m/d/yy format is also understood due to influences from the United States.)
* Federated States of Micronesia
* Palau
* Philippines (formerly d/m/yy. May still be found in certain contexts)
* United States (Although Independence Day is often referred to as "the Fourth of July.")

Coming from a dd/mm/yyyy region i do find the mm/dd/yyyy format confusing as I would expect people from the latter find the former confusing. The way I work out the date people are talking about is if the date is 02/15/07, I can easily work out it is in the mm/dd/yyyy format due to there is no 15th month in the gregorian calender. However when the date is something like 02/06/07 - I get confused. Are they talking about June 2nd or Feburary 6th?
What possibly could be confusing in few hundred or thousand years is that since we mostly write the year in an abbreviated condensed form i.e 2007=07, 1999=99, will people think we are referring to those respective dates or maybe 99 could be 1599 or 2099.
Just a little informative post there. Sorry for getting off topic a bit.
It’s still 7/7/07 where i live ![]()
ok two tid bits - story and history lesson…
First the history lesson…
Where do we get the lucky aspects of 7? Interestingly it mostly comes from the Judeo-Christian background (so maybe you have to be religious to get props on this day LOL
). Supposedly it is the number that represents completion, deriving from the creation of the earth in which God rested and sactified on the Sabbath, the seventh day. After that we see it used many more times including the command to forgive someone 7 times, Jesus saying to instead forgive 70 times 7 times. Jesus was the 77th in the lineage provided by Luke. There are also many other examples. The book of Revelation those is where it really comes into play. There we also see 7 churches, 7 seals, 7 trumpets, 7 bowls, etc. We are also introduced to the beast whose number is 666. Since 7 represents perfection, 6 represents imperfection and since the Beast is Jesus’s arch-nemesis then 777 must be the mark or number of God. This is doubl true since it’s three 7’s and 3 is another very Holy number courtesy of the trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) among other things. Thus 777 takes very divine qualities. As an interesting side-note though, 777 is 3333 in a senary (base-6) system. 3 as mentioned is also very Holy and 3333 might even be more Holy than 777 since there are four of them but since it’s in a base 6 system and 6 is imperfect that would mean that 777 is even Holy in an imperfect system. Kind of interesting huh?
Anyway - now for story time!!! =D
777 was VERY good to me today. Got my paycheck from work and it was the biggest one of the Summer ($75 more than its closest rival) but what was so awesome was what was attached to it. In an envelope was a letter with a Card. I don’t think I could make it an easier than to just transcribe it here so have a read for yourself…
I’m so excited over this! Boo-yah! =D
You work at disney. I did not know that Dash. Have you ever told the people at disney about Pixar Planet. I guess 7/7/07 was lucky. And 7/7/07 might be lucky for me because retromaster said he would give me Windows Vista.
Gasduude - Well, here is the answer to your question:
The New Seven Wonders of the world are, in random order:
-
Petra, in Jordan;
-
Chichén Itzá, in Mexico;
-
The Colosseum, in Rome;
-
Machu Picchu, in Peru;
-
The Taj Mahal, in India;
-
and, my personal favorite, the Statue of Christ Redeemer, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The statue of Christ Redeemer is my favorite, because I’ve been there last Summer and it was absolutely wonderful; if you’ve never been there, you have no idea how beautiful the view is… ![]()
