I really enjoyed that. I’ve always wanted to see what his house was like. I’ve always wondered how rich is he. And how has he changed from Toy Story’s release to the present day. I also wonder if he really hugs everybody like that everyday. It wasn’t until the promotion for Cars 2 started that I started reading about that.
He sure is rich and powerful. But you can see just how passionate he is with what he does.
Oh my gosh. Best. Life. Ever. His house is amazing!!! It’s so cool to see how he’s basically just a nice, down to earth guy, but with great visions.
Oh, and with all the working out he does, how is he not ripped yet??
That was great!! I love it. Will it be released with a movie on DVD?
That was such a cool video! John Lasseter has an amazing life.
I really enjoyed watching this. He’s blatantly very passionate about what he does and yes, he’s obviously wealthy now but fair dues since he’s worked very hard. Though I have to admit that I would hate to be a director and have to review everything and make so many decisions (then again I’m about the most indecisive person EVER so a day of his decisions would probably take me a moth to make lol). Anyway, seeing this video has only further inspired me to work towards my dream of working at pixar
IV: I can’t find anything to say it will be unfortunatly.
lisamaria: How cool would it be to work for JL!
definedancing: It’d be amazing - it seems like he really does interact with the other staff. I mean, I’m realistic, I know pixar isn’t perfect but if I could get a chance to work there I probably couldn’t contain my happiness. The working environment they’ve created just seems so cool and having spent so long being the slightly-out-of-place-geeky-person I feel like I’d be able to fit in there. Anyway… enough of my daydreaming
Oh, no no, it’s good to dream! I would be there cleaner, or their waitress, or the barista selling coffee and I would burst out of my skin in excitement. Was it not JL who said that his ideas were no more important than the person who works in the cafe?
True! I think there are rather a lot of inspiring quotes from Mr Lasseter!
I adore them! I love the one at the start of The Pixar Touch
Which one is that? I really want to read “The Pixar Touch” but haven’t got round to buying it yet.
“To create successful animation, you must understand why an object moves before you can figure out how it should move. Character animation isn’t the fact that an object looks like a character or has a face or hands. Character animation is when an object moves like it is alive, when it looks like it is thinking and all of its movements are generated by its own thought process. It is the change of shape that shows that a character is thinking. It is the thinking that gives the illusion of life. It is the life that gives meaning to the expression. As Saint-Exupéry wrote, “It’s not the eyes, but the glance – not the lips, but the smile… “
wow <3 (also thank you for typing that out - I didn’t realise how long it was!)
I actually copied and pasted it from somewhere, but i’ll keep schtum
JL is my hero.
I love him too. But I have many heroes.
Oh I know what you mean, but JL is my ultimate hero! His work ethic and just his imagination influences and inspires me.
I agree entirely. He’s one of mine, but I like Walt Disney and Brad Bird just as much as Lasseter.
