So wait, we all know that Lotso IS confirmed and IS a villain. But in what way? How would the fluffy pink bear have against the gang? Well this is how I see it.
Lotso is probably NOT the main villain. He’ll be with a bunch of other toys that are jealous because they all want to play with the children, but when this set of “new and cool” toys comes in, they try to destroy the TS gang.
I know this is like TS1, but what else would they have against Woody, Buzz, etc.?
That’s a nice thought WoodyWall-e (also welcome ^_^), I was thinking of something sort of like that also. For some reason Lotso seems to be too cute looking of a toy to be a villian to me, then again it doesn’t surprise me because think back to Toy Story 2 and how the people at pixar fooled us. hint hint
For some reason I’m thinking of something more along the lines of that Lotso is evil, but in a play type setting. Like when Andy would play with his toys… he would always make one of them the villain in his little cute plays.
I was thinking of it more as a reversal of the idea of Sid’s toys, which look evil and horrible but are actually really nice, and so Lotso looks as though he’s really sweet but is actually a horrible toy. I like your idea, WoodyWall-e that Lotso (and perhaps some other toys) become jealous of the new toys in town since that would be especially ironic for Woody, plus the fact that Lotso does look like a very basic, boring sort of toy and so anything more interesting and new could easily overshadow him.
But aside from the more basic emotions of jealousy and that sort of thing, I hope Pixar doesn’t go down the evil villain route. I don’t think it’s necessary really, like in the original we had Sid who clearly wasn’t evil, just a bit deranged, and in Toy Story 2, yes, there was more of a villain in the Prospector but his reasons for feeling that way were clearly laid out and his character therefore became more believable.
I have to say you hit the nail right, lizardgirl! What I love most about Pixar is that a good deal of their villains aren’t the usual run of the mill villains. What I hope is that Lotso will continue this track. Pixar has been known to surprise me though, so maybe Lotso might just be a minion? Haha, I dunno. All I hope is that there’s a good villain involved, even if its a strange or interesting type of villain, like Sid and the Prospector xD
