Were there any award winners you guys disagred with? The only one I can think of is Best Animated Short. I didn’t see a lot of movies last year.
Disagreed? No, they were mostly straightforward.
Maybe cinematography, as previously discussed.
I don’t know if you can disagree with something featuring shorts you haven’t seen! I can’t wait to see “La Luna,” though.
I was about to say something similar
I’m super excited to see La Luna myself, and wanted it to win, but maybe the other short is better.
I was going to see all the animated oscar shorts, but the threatre times were odd.
I can’t say which is my favorite, since I’ve only seen one. Which was the one that one, The Fantastic Flying Books. And I thought it was absolutely darling, I really liked the Humpty Dumpty book. But as to if it should of won, I’m in no place to suggest.
Who says I never saw the over shorts. I never said that. You just threw that out. I didn’t see them. But there was a chance I may of saw them but never told you guys.
I pretty much guessed that you didn’t see them (which is the case for most people), especially because you haven’t discussed them in this thread and I know you want Pixar to win. I want Pixar to win a lot sometimes, too, but overall I want the best quality work to win regardless of the studio. Like I said, though, “La Luna” might be good. We’ll all just have to wait and see!

Rightly said. I’m so stoaked to see it! I can’t rightly say, since I haven’t seen all the animated short films. But the FFBML definetly was a quality piece of animation, worthy of the award. I hope to say the same of La Luna!
Because La Luna already got nominated, I guess either there next short or a Toy Story short would have to get nominated next.
I was so glad that Hawaiian Vacation wasn’t nominated, because it’s been the worst theatrical released Pixar short.
A total mistake to release that with Cars 2 instead of La Luna.

Um, well… i would have liked something else to have won best picture (but thats cause i’m biased! )
I’m personally glad that Morris Lessmore won in retrospect. The win will do a lot more for Moonbot than it would for Pixar.
Overall I’m fine with most of the results. I kind of wish Hugo would’ve won Best Picture, but The Artist is a good movie so I’m not that angry about it. I agree that The Tree of Life should’ve won for cinematography, but that’s about it.
I was pretty satisfied with the Academy Awards, especially with The Artist.

What’s your bias?
One awesome thing about this year’s Oscars is that it really seemed like an international event.
Comedian Stephen Colbert commented on this during his “Movies Destroying America” segmant, it’s quite funny.
His response to The Artist and Transformers.

Well, yes.
And with different studios making co-productions with smaller ones in other countries besides USA, that seems to be the future of the industry.
What’s your bias?
Pixar!
Toy Story 3 competed last year, not this one.
Sorry ,misread another post.
Stupid me!
