After all is said and done...

Imagine this song on the reflecting bits. youtube.com/watch?v=2xrQ8wzGiQM

How are yall feeling, those that have seen the movie? Now that the Toy Story series is ending this year with the DVD release, how do you feel?

It’s euphoria mixed with sadness with me. After eleven years of waiting, it’s finally here, and now it’s over… It feels like the end of a conflict that has taken so much out of me, like a war or something, and now it’s over.

Maybe it’s a bit too early for a true farewell, but let’s be ready for that day.

Okay, so we’ll get the Toy Story toons, but do you expect the cast to be back together? Some of the higher profile actors like Hanks, Shawn, and Allen almost certainly won’t return. Toy Story 3 will more than likely be the final time the cast is complete until an unlikely fourth film.

So basic summary: how do you feel now that the Toy Story franchise is ending?

I feel sad… yet happy. I’m happy that my childhood dream (for Pixar to make Toy Story 3) is finally complete, but sad for the same reason. I will see the trilogy again and again, as it will live on forever. Once I have kids, they will see it, too. And Toy Story 1, 2, and 3 will always have a special place in my heart, and will be my favorite film series, for infinity and beyond.

I’m not sure… They’ve really ended on a good note, and I’d like to respect that. But still, it’s not going to be the same. Of course, going 11 years without Toy Story to begin with was what made me drift away from being a Pixar fan.

I thought that it was a perfect end to the series. But I don’t see it as a farwell. They’re still here you know, they’re movies. And they are returning in a short for Cars 2. And they keep adding the characters more into all of the Disney Parks. For example at California Adventure. In the past 2 years they’ve added the Pixar parade, Toy Story Mania, and Buzz, Zurg, and Woody all were in “World of Color”. Even if the movies are done, they keep doing new things.

I don’t think the francise is ending, it’s still going strong

Well, I meant your feelings with the movie franchise drawing to a close. Tom Hanks and the full cast won’t be together like this unless a fourth film comes along, which is highly unlikely.

Thank goodness for that. As much as I love Toy Story and the others in the series (I’m assuming I’ll love Toy Story 3) it’s got to end sometime, and with the latest instalment doing so well critically and financially, it’s certainly ending on a high note. Considering the fact that most movies tend to stand alone, for us to have been able to experience three incredible Toy Story films is enough in itself.

No regrets. They went out on a high note and created 3 films that are going to go down together as classics. As Buzz would say, their mission is complete.

To be honest Pixar amazes me. I used to be of the belief that no sequel could be very good. But Pixar went and made Toy Story 2 better than number 1 (imo). Then when they announced 3 I thought it would be terrible. Then it was better than number 2. So I am now of the belief that if they want to make another sequel, these guys would work on it until it was the better film.

So I have no upsets over the film “ending” as to be quite honest I know deep down that Pixar knows how to make something good and don’t think they’d release something that will be bad for the sake of releasing it.

Personally I think Toy Story 3 is the perfect ending to the franchise as it ends in such a way that we know that, even if we don’t see it, their lives continue happily for a very long time. So I was quite pleased with it

Much better than the incredibly depressing Up! at least =P

Everyone I’ve seen the movie with or talked to about it, can’t get it out of their heads.

I’ve been listening to the last track of the movie since Saturday, and I just replay those last few minutes…can it really be under 5 minutes that that scene happens!?

After seeing the charity screening a month ago, I was eager to talk to anyone about the film, but had to respect the non-disclosure agreement.

Now, I can’t stop talking about it and almost feel there should be some kind of therapy group, to talk about the film.

I can’t really see anything else this year coming close to the level of emotion that came forth from this film.

I’m strongly for no more movies. It’s a happy ending, but if you do anything more, you run a strong risk of repeating yourself or falling into a rut.

Most #4 things just feel like the spark is gone, like the last Wallace and Gromit short “A Matter of Loaf and Death.” After awhile, the short just became too predictable.

The Toy Story series is my favorite movie series of all time, I am a bit sad that it’s done, but I am looking forward to the Toy Story short to be released with Cars 2.

Same here! I wonder if it’ll be set before the events in Toy Story 3, or after. I hope after because I’d like to see more of Buttercup/Trixie/Dolly/Mr. Pricklepants.

I see what you mean. [spoil]I don’t even want to think about Bonnie growing up…[/spoil]

It would be like a never ending cycle.
